Haven't made many changes to the car of late, just been driving and enjoying it every chance I get!

I just cleaned it up a bit and yesterday I did some simple maintenance (plugs/cap/rotor) and it's running better than ever. I still kiss the redline every time I drive it!

Car show season is here, so I'll be doing another paint correction detail in the next week or so.

    From last year's picnic:

Added a Raid Turbo steering wheel, black with red stitching.

From last weekend after a spirited drive, chasing an E93 M3 through the twisties:

Hi , love what you have done with the Car .
I have a 1988 Zinnoberrot M3 and have a question regarding the style 5 Wheels , did you needed a wheel spacer ?
Mine is stock , and found different answers on the web on this matter.
              Thanks for your help .

E38 Style 5s need at least a 3mm spacer to clear the front caliper rattle clip. Or simply remove the rattle clip.

Will buy 5mm hubcentric spacer and new bolts from turner , Any other idea ?

Thanks for the note! Yeah I removed the front anti-rattle clips and I run a 3mm spacer on all four corners.

                      Thanks for your reply Joe.

Do you think with 5 mm spacers will be OK without removing anti rattle clips?

I tested the wheels, and in fact the rub against the rattle clip.
Reading Turner Motorsport page found that at least I need 12,5 mm spacers because of the hubcentric lip.

I'm a noob on this matter, just dont want to take the rattle clip out neither when I'm finished installing the tires found that it's rubs against the fender.

A friend of mine used to have the same rims on a M3 E30 and never needed to install anything.

                        Very confused here

                        Any help its appreciated

I run 3mm spacers with the rattle clips still installed. No issues. You should be running 225/45/16 tires.

Thanks, do you have any vibration?

This note on Turner Motorsport: "3mm spacer note: a 3mm spacer sits on the existing hub lip but leaves less than 3mm of lip for the wheel to rest on. Therefore, wheels that have a bevel around the center bore will not engage the hub lip and may reseult in a vibration".

I double check my rim and it does have the bavel around, so acording to them I should use 12mm to fit the hub lib correctly and avoid any vibration.

                            What do you folks think?

I am pretty much a purist, but given the options, Turner Hub Extenders or no rattle clip, I prefer direct fit with no rattle clip.

FWIW you can get 10mm hubcentric and wheel centric spacers. That said, I would not run 10mm spacers front or rear.

Thanks Mark, what would be the cons of taking the rattle clip ? Joe here stated that he took them out and was using 3mm spacers.

Any idea on how to do it safetly?

                                thanks
