Dry run to see how many wheels i could carry on the roof . sadly 4 just will not fit safely this way so 3 it is. 1 will have to ride in the back seat.

I have also been having a few issues of late with response and also warm idle. The Beams uses a odd Drive by wire throttle that also has a throttle cable. this means the electronics can take over anytime they wish and i have had issues as mentioned with it.

Found this today though:- It removes the electronic control but leaves it in place to stop the Cel coming on the dash. Will not be able to fix this before the track day. I also need to decide if i bother going down this path or just fork out for a aftermarket edu and fit the ITB's i have instead.

    Decisions.....

Did some more work on the front sway bar and other various items today. A friend of mine helped me out greatly and made a side pipe for me to use next week at the track day too. We have the handling of the E30 pretty damn good in my opinion but a faster E36 steering rack will be going in thats for sure.

Need to get the other seat in there and adjust a few things, but i am basically done for track prep! Thank god...

I travelled up to Wakefield for a 2 day track day event.

          Best time was 1:12.54

I think that is pretty good for a street car

More pics etc at a later date.

I will add the better videos as i upload them (took 4hrs just to do this one......)

Tried on my friends race wheel setup.....

Surprised they virtually fit on the rear, the front is a different story though.

On another note thumbs up for the PFC brake pads. I was out braking most cars, quite surprised by that. So i will hold off on upgrading those for the time being.

Diff needs a rebuild now (pretty much already did anyway) so time to fork out for a 4 plate upgrade.

Also bought these the other day:-

ORC single plate clutch, TRD short shifter and some TRD engine mounts.

Looks good mate. I've been running the PFC 01's for a while now. Amazing stopping power when they come up to temp. Brake and tyre set up that you're running is e30 racing spec and must say from trying a few different tyre and brake combo's its the best for track work. Well unless you go to a full slick. . . .

                            Cheers.

Yes very surprised at the braking performance but really needs vented rear discs. After the longer sessions the brake was burning off the section of the bell of the rear discs that is next to the disc portion.

I will be addressing that when i upgrade the brakes, but they will stay for now.

I chose the brakes and tyres (and 215 sizing) from the E30 racers, if it aint broke don't fix it;)

Have been a bit quiet with the car of late.

The parts arrived from Japan so will get these in soon.

The diff is crying for a rebuild after being abused at the track so that will need to be done before i go to Winton to race in April/May.

Took it for a run with some mates to Hanging Rock and after getting such a good deal on dent removal i got the whole car done (25 years of accumulated dents, there was a lot) so looking ok, even with the mcf#cked paint.

The car owns and I love that swap!

The seat flex is kinda scary, though.

Please consider getting some fixed back seats, even if you're just swapping them out for track days. Those look like they might be pretty hazardous to your health if you have a big off.

Used fixed buckets can be found cheap - I have a Bride Zeta III that I snagged for $300.
