Our inspection in Kansas isn't even required unless you're trying to register a car you bought from another state. If so, all you have to do is drive into a bay, they look at the vin on the dash and the vin on the title, you pay $15 and leave.

Long time no post.

Well i changed the diff for a 3.9 plate LSD as i was not happy with the gearing with the Torsen 4.1, the car has transformed. A much better ratio.

The Whiteline rear sway bar....... what a joke! a straight fit part that hits the chassis cross rail is unacceptable! so we had to modify the bar itself. Luckily it works best on the stiffest setting anyway.

The front sway bar was another debacle as well.... had to be changed twice even after supplying a shape.

Chose to have the suspension set at 2.5 degrees camber all round, zero toe front and .1mm toe in at the rear.

Took the car to a Hillclimb event to check everything out on the car for it's first shake down.

Quite happy with the result, exhaust still needs to be changed for something that actually suits the Beams (2.5 inch is what these engines require) and a few other bits and pieces need to be done (custom front sway bar is touching the front tyres on full lock :( etc etc) but i was only 4 seconds off my best time in a MR2 and with a passenger in the car that was great.

I think changing the steering rack to the less lock Z3 one will happen too. The E30 rack is pretty rubbish in that regard.

Fixed some niggling issues (universal joint on the rear of the tailshaft was stuffed and very noisy on the freeway)put the driveline back in the car.

Decided i am going to take Dirk to Wakefield early January instead of the MR2 i normally i use so the race is on to get the car complete.

Received my track wheels (same design but 15 inch) and will have some A050 Advans this week i hope.

Issues still with the custom sway bar..... which needs sorting before Wakefield.

And started fitting my Genuine Kevlar Bride LowMax Stradias today.


I still have not edited the video from the Hillclimb so i will add that here later too.

You will have to let me know which day you are planning on going to Wakefield. My E30 is out of action at the moment but I may have the M3ti together if it isn't too "early" in January (waiting on parts from OS).

I am waiting on some PFC brake pads, as i have no time to manufacture a BBK at this time. Fingers crossed.

Wheel centre caps are not staying, i hate them. Just fitted by the tyre place.

Yeah not really interested in making cars just look good/stanced to be honest. And a lot of E30's are coping that in Australia of late. Doesn't mean you cannot make your car look nice, but most people just make them slower and handle terribly.
