and a quick question my b35 had a massive dual mass flywheel, what are my options to getting something affordable and lighter?

The injector harness from your m20 will work fine. Just remove the beauty cover and then remove all the little zip ties. You will have enough slack to plug the harness into the m30 injectors. I then re wrapped the harness in the new stretched out configuration. Other wise the only change to the harness is the afm plug but I assume you will be using a IAT sensor am you will have no problem. Everything else lines up and is a plug and play.

flywheels:

M90, E9,E3,E28 533i, and i think E28 M5. All of those are single mass and 14-16 lbs ish.

The 533 one is prob most valuable since it has timing pick triggers which you do not need with the B35.

You can use a 1983/4 flywheel out of a 733i or 533i. They are factory lightweight single mass flywheels. Or the M5 flywheel. I went with an aftermarket aluminum light weight flywheel for the b34 (has the crank reference tab) and matching single mass Spec clutch

You can use the 3.3 flywheel but it will need to be machined. It's use a bit cheaper than the m5 flywheel.

I think the surface is too big and needs to smaller or something of that nature at least that's what Paul told me.

sooo big issue. Block has about 5 cracks. need a new block.

also cylinder is coolant washed.

no carbon in the port

That outlines some differences

The b34 and b35 use the same block 92mm stroke by 86mm bore.

The B35 has 1mm larger valves, larger ports and a hotter cam (264).

The b35 has larger comustion chambers

The b35 uses different pistons

The b35 has better intake and exhaust manifolds (more flow)

There are 2 different versions of the b34 (the dirty motor (10:1 CR) and the green motor (8:1 CR))

The only difference between the two are the cam and the pistons.

The dirty motor uses the b35 cam (264) and higher CR pistons

so youd need custom pistons i believe for a b34 bottom and a b35 top

I know several people with e28's who are running 3.3 flywheels on B34 engines and getrag transmissions with no modifications.
