Very nice and inspiring! Everytime I look at something like this I kind of turn crazy and want to go in my garage! however, my two Young kids are there to bring me back into the reality...haha

Keep going while this project can be in the top priorities!

Do you have any experience with the kinugawas that have the bov integrated on the turbo?

Im sure he does because I cannot see him using anything but the lowest level of china product for cost reasons. Its probably decent although a 0 mile holset hx35 can be bought for about $4-550.

Bov on turbo is not that uncommon; benz diesel turbos use then.

Best Tuned Car: Kameron Baker’s Turbocharged BMW E30

This has been a great season on /TUNED, with the focus, honestly, on variety. We’ve had Mustangs you can buy at a Ford Dealer, $200,000 Aston Martin race cars, and coming January 6th, street racing school buses in Panama. But nothing was so wonderful to drive as this well-preserved and lovingly upgraded BMW E30. Kameron got it from his dad as a 16th birthday present and immediately went to work. 7 years later, it makes a healthy 385 horsepower thanks to Kameron’s custom turbocharger, gets around corners nicely, looks the part, and best of all, despite being completely home built, it works! This thing is easily as fast as a Corvette for under $15,000, and just like a proper manufacturer, Kameron developed the car at the track, on the autocross, in high heat and winter cold, and even at high altitude. Good car, this, and the best modified car I’ve driven all year.

What do you think about running a GTX28r or GTX30r? Do you think for the cost/performance the 20g is THE perfect turbo for the m20?

                        Depends on your goals.
gt28 is a buttplug for the m20 though.

Why is the gt29 a "buttplug" for the m20?

My goal is a turbo that has great boost response up to 1 bar, produces 300 - 400 rwhp, and doesn't feel like it runs out of breath at 6500 rpms.

So on a 8.8:1 compression ratio motor, making 1 bar, is the 20g ideal because of cost?

I think the 20g is a awesome size having been in kams car a few times, on the other hand I have a gt28 sized turbo and its not a buttplug. It doesnt spool as quickly or efficiently but it flows goo enough to make decent power.

But that turbo doesn't have the same wheel trims as a real gt28. it's just labeled that on the site. I asked kam to show me after you guys praised it so much lol.

I guess it would be nice to see how a comparison on the street, say from a 20 to 80 mph roll from a 20g/gt28r/gt30r.....or maybe their "x" variants.....

This is what I'm looking for....a turbo that will get me from 20 to 80 mph effortlessly and not necessarily break the rear wheels loose in 3rd gear.
