Drove the car about 12miles today and its amazing. I never went over half throttle to help break in the clutch but its amazing I can spin the tires sooo easily. Honestly I love the 4.27 rear end, you cant use first but taking off from second is just fine. 55mph is around 2600rpms in 5th,so cruising is the same as the automatic transmission. It feels like a different E30.

I'm sorry but a 4.27 duff with a 5 speed and boost is just silly.

Put a 3.73 in there, you'll be surprised.

Nicely done! You finished your swap before me :P

I just have to bleed the brakes and clutch line and I will be on the road with mine.

I know I'm still trying to find a way to switch ratios without losing the torsen lsd.

I think the 2.8 z3 had a 3.46 torsen, I could be wrong though. I'm pretty sure some of them had torsens.

              A 3.46 would be awesome.

it actually uses a 3.15. There is one for sale in the for sale section iirc.

Interested to see if you still have the problem after draining a bit. I think my old 4dr car puked a little out the breather on occasion and never had it long enough to determine why.

SO I attempted to test the E30 but was shortly interrupted by a wire getting knocked loose on my scavenge pump and then a huge plume of blue smoke behind me.

Going to solder every wire tomorrow so I don't have those dumb quick connects.

Solder and then use marine heatshrink to epoxy the wires together and provide a bit of stress and vibration relief

already soldered them and used zip ties to clamp each end of the wire to an object in my engine bay so they cant ever pull apart. Looked up a bunch of soldering techniques last night and this should hold really well. my exhaust has a bunch oil at the downpipe mouth but its burning off and running clean again.

soo I have about 100miles on my clutch now and have been playing around a bit more.Traction is non existant for all of second gear if your not careful. I just take off from second so I only shift once to third gear to get to 60. Looking for a 3.4xx rear end or something so I can use first.

Also ran single line for the BOV with no tees and it actuates much quicker now.

The 5-speed with the lightened flywheel is soo responsive I love it. Wanna get sideways? Just tap the gas...

so, going to go with a gravity drain for the turbo and then sell my scavenge pump and with the money likely pick up some head studs and then start saving up for a water methanol injection system.
