Are you going to dyno it? I'm a lil curious to see what it does.

I am anticipating some acceleration videos. It seems that you have done a great job keeping things within reasonable budget and doing a quality install job.

Are you forcing boost through the PCV system? (which would cause the rear main seal and other seals to pop out)

How are you liking the turbo so far?

no my valve cover is vented to atmosphere with a little tiny cone filter. but it is weird that this is happening at he same time I turboed it. before I even drove the car I pulled it out of the garage and noticed it was leaking a lot more than normal, I checked all my lines and none leak:(

I cant get enough of the turbo, its such a simple install and completely changes the car, I Love boosted E30:) I cant wait to sort out my issues and one day try a bit higher boost.

well I have some bad news the cars rear main seal is 100% shot, leaks a quart in 10minutes.... I have a 2 foot wide puddle under the car of oil...time for an overhaul.

Like I said on FB. Time for a 5 speed swap! The car looks great. Loving the videos, and I'm looking forward to more :)

Trust me If I remove the tranny a 5 speed is going in.

I examined my leak and did some thinking and I'm starting to think this new leak is the oil pan either I cracked it or a bad gasket. The car was off all night when it leaked, If my thinking is correct the rear main seal is above the oil level when the car is off, therefore it couldn't of been the rear main seal leaking all night? Is my idea flawed?

I will be changing my oil pan gasket this Thursday and I've removed my ballast resistor from my coil(it wasn't needed) and hoping to get he car running good by this weekend, and I found a few places that can build up a 4hp22 to handle just about anything for relatively cheap, it involves using 4hp24 parts and a high stall torque converter. I may do this just for fun and because its my car... I think I'm going to just go for highest HP Automatic E30:) and then do a motor/tranny swap of some kind. There seems to be too much miss-information about how weak the stock auto tranny is, even though it is used in so many other vehicles with much larger engines.

I walked into the E30 scene with the mindset that any German automatic that wasn't on a Benz was a fragile time-bomb. While that is very true for some of them (namely VW) I have not hesitated to do a good amount of spirited driving, manually-shifting the automatic like a dork to let it unwind all the way to redline, plenty of freeway passing with abrupt downshifts, and occasional sideways action. All of this over the past 10,000 miles, from 185k to 195k, and I fully expected the transmission to be toast or at bare minimum ,badly slipping clutches (hoping that something would happen to give me and excuse to get a 5spd swap started).

To this day it still shifts smooth, while locking up hard enough to chirp a set of new Falken Ziex 912's going into 2nd gear.

I would say that if the teflon front seal has been replaced and the fluid has been changed regularly, that there is absolutely nothing to worry about with a ZF 4hp22. It is coming out next week for a 5spd swap though.

I 100% agree, I've done 2-3 donuts a month for almost 5 years and the tranny is still running awesome even with boost.

going to ver 1.1 on my turbo build

-Re-doing turbo oil drain: loses 6 inches of plumbing and will ensure a leak free connection

-replacing oil pan gasket:prop 90% of my leak

                              -VC gasket:for fun

-running a bigger valve cover breather system: 1.25"

-changing ATF fluid and filter: with B&M trick shift synthetic

-running a B&M ATF supercooler:will be shrouded and placed my brake duct/foglight area.
