so worked for 3 hours trying to remove the subframe bushing with a puller and it only budged about 1mm and the flange lip on the lower part of the bushing has started to bend making it impossible to grip and remove.its 29degrees here and the bushing isn't budging.

going to use some fire power tomorrow and hopefully get it out.

I hope you take the subframe out before lighting them on fire... inches from the gas tank lol good looking build, keep up the great work

just an idea that seems as if it would work and save time in my head. my subframe is not stuck to the car its just the bushings being stubborn

          1-remove rear wheels
          2-remove differential
3- unbolt the 22mm nuts that hold sub frame to body, my subframe drops down around 1" by doing that.
4-I can now reach and remove the 2 trailing arm bolts on each side.
5-subframe can be dropped straight down leaving trailing arms on vehicle being supported by jack stands. .

this would easily save the hassle of undoing the hydraulic brake lines and messing with the stupid ebrake setup, sway bar and shocks.

would this work? am I missing something that stops the trailing arms from being separated from the subframe with everything in the car?

so decided to just remove everything in the rear, I have the subframe dropped down, differential and exhaust removed, just need to unhook brake lines and rear shocks now.

I'm looking into ways to not only replace old bushing but improve my cars handling and I've been looking into lollypop bushings. In my head it seems that there is no way for my car to run more caster because if my thinking is correct I would simply run into clearance issues when turning with the fender liner. Am I right in assuming that clearance is decreased while turning with increased caster? or does the offset not effect clearance while turned?

currently I hit my brake duct fender liner piece and also it appears I have left rubber on a pat of the valance.
green x shows where I currently hit while driving spiritedly.

going for semi- street legal race car build now.

I have somewhat beefy tires on my 16's and sold my offset polyurethane CABs because the increased caster would of made it hit the valance actually especially when turning. ):
                Doing polyurethane e36 CABS instead.

Can't remember if you've already switched out your race springs already but maybe consider GC camber/caster plates when you're able to? Get caster as near as possible without hitting stuff under your fenders or something. I already had to bang out 1/4" in the wheel well from rubbing on spirited driving.

yeah I'm contacting AKG about there adjustable lolipop bushings. If they can be set close to stock I think i can get them to work.

Ditch those tall ass tires! Go to a 235/40 or something like that.

I got these tires for free so I like them:) also most 235/40 tires only have a tread width of 8.5", that's close to a half inch skinnier than my current tires. For my next set of tires I need something to fill my flares. A 245/40 would have a bit less sidewall but even then tire rack is showing that most are either the same width or only .2" wider.
no brand seems to make wide but short sidewalled tires that are under like $300 a tire.

My re070's run WIDE, they hang off the rim lip almost 1/4" and the sidewalls are super stiff.. They are no doubt the BEST tires I have driven on.

got my trailing arms off. just waiting for my poly trailing arm bushings.

also a quick question is do the revshift poly subframe bushings require the washer that sits above the stock bushings. reason I ask is because it does not fit around the metal sleeve on the revshift bushings.

Are these caps able to be painted to match the body color? With perhaps self etching primer and then base coat /clear coat?
