Today's upgrades from Condor.
shift knob and trans mounts
Shift knob-Amazing I love it, nice, tall, smooth shifts.
Trans mounts-Maybe the single most vibration causing mod I've ever done to any car.
My car has had poly mounts/bushings everywhere for quite some time and it was very nice and streetable. I had everything BUT the trans mounts in poly.
So I thought I would do these as well, as soon as you start the car you notice them, the starter sounds as if its in the cabin, and anything over 1500rpms vibrates the cabin.
The vibration is RPM dependent not with speed or gear. engine and trans dont move so the result in the car vibrates.
How loud is the vibration? so loud that I cant hear my exhaust unless a window is down or I'm just cruising.
Revving to 7k is terrifying with the amount of sheer noise and vibration.
I have upgraded trans mounts on my WRX as well and the only downside was a little whine. this is 100x that little whine.
Dont get me wrong its a very well made piece and very affordable, its just a bit much for a car that you drive on the street a lot.
I"m still going to run them.....because racecar

Based on your description yours sounds 10 times worse than mine :P Mine sounds a bit rough at about 2000rpm other than that its not that bad actually.
Diffrent hardness? Mine is delrin but i dont know the stiffness or what you call it.E30 325ix M50 turbo 7 spd DCT 4wd 840awhp @ 31 psi.

Never been a fan of solid mounts myself. Call me crazy but I like a little dampening and "give" to my mounts! :D
Shift knob is bad ass though!Comment

Thanks guys, i'm glad you like the shift knobs.
As with anything theres always a compromise when running solid mounts. With solid trans mounts, you get the benefits of keeping your drivetrain and shift lever in place under hard acceleration or deceleration, but they do transmit a lot of vibration into the cabin. For those of you that want to have the performance advantage of solid engine mounts, but would rather have a bit less vibration transmitted into the cabin, keep your stock transmission mounts, and you'll have the best of both worlds. Personally solid motor and trans mounts don't bother me in a DD... (I may be biased, i have been known to drive my caged spece30 to work from time to time ;)

UUC was having a sale so I bit the bullet on the BBK with drilled rotors, black caliper, light track pads and SS brake lines. Tough choice for me, I was going to go with the IE kit but this was cheaper, weighs less and will definitely help fight my brake fade.

Awesome! You'll love the brakes!
Did you go for the street pads? That's all I'm running.Comment
