Can't tell you the number of the parts but you have twelve weeks and there are 24 part categories. You need to finish at average of two categories per week. (Although you are well on the way in some categories)

That's dedication to weight loss :P I wouldn't have thought about the weight differences of glasses.

This thing would be badass with an aluminum M52 with m54b30 rotating assembly... 240hp in that thing. Mmm.

That's just something I can do right now with zero cost. Applies to all parts that I have several of, in store. You'd be surprised at weight differences between two cast metal parts with the same part number.
Stuff starts adding up when you have a reaaally long list of small weight savings.

That weighs more than my current setup, does not bolt on to a similarly nice close ratio box, and I can achieve my targets with the current lump.
If "more power" is the essence of BMW building, every E30 should have a turbo'd S70/2 :).
That said, I HAVE tested a 940kg E30 with ~240 hp M50 or 52 I forget. Anyway, it had slicks and all that racing stuff. YES it went like stink.

Keep it coming man. I love this build. The scale is my friend too.

What were the weights of the other two rear windshields? How much did you actually save?

The one with factory tint was 6,8xx kg, other two were ~0,3 and 0,4 kg lighter than that. Ofcourse, change to Lexan and save several kilos..

With this dedication to extreme weight savings, I hope you're under 72kg or it's going to look very silly.

A 6 feet 2" tall guy close to 40, weighing 72kg.. Now that would look stupid :D

Quite stiff engine mounts, 5,90€ a piece

Wiring sets are quite a lot thinner than stock.

..as was the rear window defogger:

Dashboard collides with the modified windscreen frame. I can live with that and come up with a clever solution come winter.

1984 front lip doesn't fit the 1985-> front valance.

Rest of the brake stuff installed and made to fit eachother, brake bleeding done (I think).
