I would for sure rock those in black. Really neat idea, subscribed to see how this turns out. -
as i said before, e30s are not your market.
but honda/2002s definitely would be interested. you just need to charge more. the honda crowd already buys bottlecaps at @ 100/piece. lol.Leave a comment:

Well, I do know from experience that CAD designs don't always look the same when made in real life. I am going to try to get my spare wheel cut to see how it all blends out.
... and machining is the slowest, most expensive way to make something. This would not be a money maker - especially for old 14" bottlecaps.
Hopefully it all works out. I'll keep you posted.Leave a comment:

if you can make a whole new wheel in 16x8 I think you can make some awesome retro feel type wheels.Leave a comment:

Cast aluminum. The analysis would be more of a comparison between the original and the new... I am more interested in the change between the 2 if you know what I mean.
The Inventor files are on their way over to you.Leave a comment:

Send me both the STEP files and Inventor, I'll put it through Ansys this Monday.

I will try a few different load patterns before/after the machining. Do you know if they are aluminum or magnesium or what?
