I really wanted this post to be an update with the shifter installed but I hit a small roadblock yesterday; getting to the bitch clip...

I've already removed the trans brace and also removed the nuts and bolts that attach the giubo to the driveshaft to allow the tranny to tilt and get some angle but the tranny isn't moving.

Do I need to remove all 6 of the nuts and bolts on the giubo, or should I loosen the motor mounts? Any other tips?

I'll be heading to Harbor Freight today to confirm if the tool mentioned in the DIY is NLA. A new HF just opened by my house so it's not a huge waste of time to go there.

You need to loosen up the motor mounts to get it to sag.

What tool is mentioned in the DIY? For the bitch clip? All you need to do is loosent the motor mounts and give enough space to slip a flat screw driver under the tab of the bitch clip and pry it open

I loosened the motor mounts and still not getting any real movement. Only thing I can think of is the exhaust isn't allowing it to tilt. I'll have to address this solid exhaust when I install the supersprint muffler bit for now I only have a tiny bit of space between the top of the trans and the tunnel.

Charlie this is the tool mentioned in the DIY.

I have a similar tool and small stubby flat heads so I'll switch back and forth until I get frustrated and need a break lol

Edit: also just occurred to me that being a G260 with the 24v the trans is twisted a little more making it harder to get to. Back to the grind...

Thanks Brent but I actually already went and got one from pep boys. $10+tax. It worked perfectly but because i couldn't get any tilt it was wedged against the tunnel and after a selection of tools I got it out

Then came the time to install the shifter, I had to go back and forth between working on the car and watching the warriors game. Frustration ensued in both battles

Not sure if this is another first year problem but after getting the first 3 in there was no way to get the other 3 in

Said fuck it and drilled out the holes and tightened the shifter on.

Unfortunately the DSSR and shifter aren't working well with each other and now I'm stuck trying to squeeze the DSSR over the shifter . I'm pooped and am going to take the rest of the day off

Finally drove the car with the PMC shifter. It's pretty crazy and totally different from what I'm used to. While I was at it doing race car things I also decided to make the interior more racecar.

Looks like I'm ready to race at the Porsche Owners Club event at Willow Springs .

Looks good! Very utilitarian. I know it's not new but I love that euro clock.

If you want to go all out race car you can install a couple gauges in the center vents, a buddy of mine did it well and it looks almost factory. I think you can buy pre-made metal plates.

Its going to happen, but Im only going to lose one vent in the middle. I'll be installing an Oil Temp and Oil Pressure gauge

I really like the Podi gauges. I've always considered picking one up during their black Friday sale, but if I really wanted stealth/OEM gauges I'd probably just bite the bullet and get BavRest to work some magic on my cluster.

                          Cool.

I was hoping to save post 911 for a story about a little E30 embarrassing 911s at the track but since that won't happen now , I washed the car yesterday. Here's a pic for proof

They also told me that I couldn't use #26 and that it needed to be 3 digits so I picked 318 just to represent my M10 car lol
