Went and picked up a fire extinguisher. Sadly the metal mount is hard to find. None at the Home Depot and none at my local car parts store that were separate from an extinguisher. Maybe Amazon.

At Diamond Tires in San Rafael took get my tires mounted and the alignment speks changed. These guys are really good and professional for anyone living in the north bay. I know JP from A1 brings lots of his cars here. In fact they will probably give you a discount if you mention his name.

                  Problems problems problems. :(

For some resin the drivers side front wheel (TRM C1) rubs on the strut tube. How ever the same TRM wheel on the passengers side works fine. This to me means it can not be the wheel as it would not work on ether side if it was that different. checked the specs on the back of the wheel and it is 15x8 et20.
Now I think the strut tube is at a different angle on the drivers side sins it is making contact with the wheels on that side only. I slapped the bottle caps back on and measured the distance between the inner wheel lip and the strut tube.
                  Drivers side 10mm

                  Passenger side 15mm

This is where it is rubbing with the C1s

I tried moving the lock nuts on the coil overs to see if that would get rid of the interference, but it did not. I put a 5mm spacer on and it still rubbed. It took 10mm of spacers to clear the strut. But only on the front drivers side.

Any ideas other then the strut tube being bent or welded on incorrectly? Steering knuckle/spindle bent?

Struts tubes were welded wrong. Who did the work, CATUNED? If so just have em do it again...

Probably the biggest downside of any coilover conversion for e30, welding has to be on point or there will be issues. Back when I had GC, I went through 2 pairs of strut tubes tryn to get them chopped and welded properly...

Someone needs to make some sort of guide or metal o-ring to slip between the stock tube and new tube to keep everything aligned and in spec. When I was building my bag setup in the front for my 2002 I used electrical tape to create o-rings to keep everything snug and aligned but it was a bitch to do.

Well I am here at Catuned right now. The coilover strut tubes are tight and actually need to be gently tapped on to the cut down strut tube. So there is not much room for mess ups. Our money is on the original core strut housing having been bent before it was chopped and welded.
So there is another strut being cut down and welded to a coil over set up.

The other thing I realized is that my e30 has had an accident at some point. The alignment is perfect but the position of the camber plates upfront are completely different. The passenger side is almost maxed out. We did some mesuring on the shock towers, and the front is out of square by almost half an inch.

Problem fixed. Max at Catuned got everything to fit right with a bit of cunning and of cores Jeremy Clarkson's favorite tool.
Its always a bit disappointing to me how crummy my car looks and how many thousands of dollars I have spent on it. Then I remind my self that I am building it to perform well and not to be a garage queen. Still have a few cosmetic things I would like to change in the future.
I am happy with the wheel fitment and everything. Looks like it means business now. The wheels/tires wraps up my suspension build.
On to other parts of the car. Id like a seat and a roll bar and some bigger brakes.
