I wasn't expecting custom evaporator and heater core, and I've seen off the shelf cable actuated heater valves that could've saved them some time.Comment

Yeah, but just like everything else they've done, they try to keep it budget and do it themselves.
Plus they probably didnt like how the cables ones worked or looked or something, and would have had to chop it up anyways.We're in deep now boys

To be fair, they are dealing with a very small space.
When you think of Mini, don't think of what you see on the street today as in a BMW Mini. They are freaking tiny.
