Hey guys! I'm hope everyone is doing well! So today I did a bunch of crazy things. I picked up my block from the machine shop and it looks great! I had them hone/bore, hot tanked, and freeze plugs. All for $223! Then I bought a car today as my new DD while my car is under the knife! The car is a 1990 mk2 Jetta! It was my brother in laws car who sold it to his buddy and I bought I back for $500 lol. Thanks for sticking with it guys! Block assembly begins in a weak!

Thanks! Yeah it's crazy seeing a block transform like this. It just makes the build that more exciting.

I'm looking forward to seeing how this turns out. The 318s don't get enough love, everyone just swaps the engines out. Subscribed. You planning on running on E85?

Hey everybody! Sorry I havent been posting I've been slammed with work lately, but that's okay before more money for car parts!! 😎🎉🎉 Anyway last weekend My brother-in-law and I started on the block, we go the block assembled and starting putting the head on. I have Double roll timing crank and cam sprockets coming in the mail. The next thing I need to purchase is an oil pan with an oil return feed, and a timing cover. Anyone have these things??? :D

                    Anyway here are some pictures!

Getting the block all LUBED up. 😉

                    Gotta lube the bearings.

144mm rods and nee shiny pistons ready for the block.

                    Rings in!

Floating pins locked in and ready to go! These were a bitch to get in!!

                    Lubed and assembled!

Heres a comparison of the old pistons and rods vs the new ones. The new ones are a smaller piston and longer rod.

                    Got them innnnn!

                    Ohhhh baby.

This weekend we're going to do the head and timing and get all the accessories mounted hopefully!

                                The m10 Turbo thread!

So I've done a little sense the last post. I got the head on and everything inside torqued down! I got the head done from the amazing Bimmer Heads. If you need head work done do go there! They do amazing work!

So i got the rods, head and some other stuff torque down. I was torquing the main crank bearing to block bolts but they started to stretch so i ordered some arp studs for it.

I ordered all the stuff i need for timing; double row cam/ crank sprocket, timing cover, tensioners and guide rail. One those get in i'll assemble all of that. I also need to find an m10 oil pan modified for oil return.
