I think making a M10 with iX drivetrain isn't such a big deal for Juuso :D
I prefer the old and simple too; less parts to break down, cheaper and way more better availability.

It's not the problem as the front diff bolts on only to the oil pan, which is just metal, means it's fixable. as swapping from m20 to m10 the full package shortens about 4" so thought if I should swap some 6 speed tranny on m10 and fit stock or m50 transfer case after it. 8-)

M10 ix FTW!!!!!! I love it when people go against the "norm" and do what they want. Maybe I'll abandon my M54 swap and go s14, lol.

            Custom oilpan..
I have seen lost of custom oil pans, not all fro Bmw e30 ix, but still. Why in earth you want to use lots of time to messure what oil pan can fit.
To me i see it is way more easy make custom (by you self would be ever better) set or just like that S54 engine swamp in ix was here, there was some custom weld set in that oil pan...

there's even more to measure if you want to make custom oilpan to ix.

easiest way is to use old oilpan, cut the awd part out of it and water cut new flange for the new motors oilpan.

m10 uses steel oilpan so that cant be mixed with aluminum

Time to sacrifice another cracked head for porting practices :)
Applied black paint to see after what I've done to it.

Three different valve seats, all 42mm dia.

So I started flow testing these and bigger valve gave approx. 5-8% more high end flow than stock 40mm used in this 2 liter head.

I noticed that I needed to reshape the chamber to make the flow open smoother around the valve. Here's the raw cut. gave it 3-4% more flow at the middle too.
