Update: I finally finished up other projects (fixes on my e36 m3) and new acquisitions (my wife's e90 M Sport) and got some time to wrench on the E30 project.
The original driver door had a bit of surface damage on it (door dings), which I replaced with a donor door from a wrecking yard. The door ended up having the wiring harness cut, so I rewired that. I also finished running the cables for the trunk-mounted battery and reinstalled (most) of the interior. I also found a trunk lid from a coupe (no spoiler holes, no 3rd brake light) and swapped that on.
And just for fun (and self-motivation) I bolted up the front bumper, grilles, and threw on the startecs. I think I will end up selling these as they aren't as nice as my last pair.
If all goes well, the engine work should be done this month and she should be up and running. Then it's just the simple matter of welding, bodywork, paint & finishing!Last edited by IronJoe; 07-15-2019, 10:54 AM.
