That's awesome, I can only imagine how it'd be to drive.
Pro MLG tip I've found for bleeding them is to pre-fill the heater matrix if possible, and also massage the heater hoses while it's running to get everything cycling nicely. I still don't like doing it though.

Vincenze beat me to it, it is really straight forward enough. Basic tools and supplies.
Tonight I got the cooling system fully filled and bled. I forgot what a PITA M42's can be to bleed, repeatedly burping over and over while I do a dance with the temperature gauge. Eventually she submitted, the heater started working and the temp needle stands straight up.
While I was bleeding the cooling system the lifters took care of themselves and the engine is much much quieter now.
Motronic seems to have found a happy steady idle at ~850rpm or so, and man does it rapp out quick and smooth with the lightened M20 flywheel.
More sauce: (I'm pretty sure the forum embed tags are broken)

The engine ran for 5-7 seconds prior to the filming of the video... the engine is new, the lifters are all new, it will take time with the engine at speed to bleed them of air. Its not going to happen in 45 seconds.
Can't drive the car, don't have any seats, and the rear needs to be aligned first as well.Leave a comment:

Engine seems a little clackity, doesn't it? Lifters not filling with oil? Maybe it's just the video.
Also, no burnout video? I am disappoint.Leave a comment:

Ladies and Gentleman of R3V. I do wish to cordially announce on this night this M42 breathes its first breath of new life.
At this point it's officially a CAR!
