Looks like the 2K Hot Rod Satin Black I used on my engine bay.

Yes the foam is a weather seal.

The paint used is SEM Trim Black, Eurojet Satin 41023. I had a few cans left from prior projects but now that I'm looking to reorder I see its been discontinued, weird.

SEM Trim Black 39143 still is available but it is not quite as deep jet black as the eurojet satin. It is more dark anthracite as compared.

        If you want to try something new;

UCS 2K Hot Rod Satin Black https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0186NI7LQ..._6PJuCb6N0GXCJ

Definitely not as easily stored, or cheap, but I'll bet you'll be impressed.

Amazing build! Always checking your build for updates👍👍. I’m currently cleaning the engine bay and started grinding all the seam sealant off to bare metal. Do you primer before or after the new sealant? Any help is greatly appreciated.

I used that 2k here and there and it's great for hard surfaces. My only concern would be for any trim/ flexible parts. That 2k definitely has no flex agent. I'm not familiar with SEM trim paint so don't know if it's any more flexible although SEM specifically states "Retains flexibility"

That's exactly right, it's great for hard surfaces.

For all my trim I used U-POL Matte Black with a flexible primer, even on the aluminium door and window trim, and the mirrors, it looks exactly like new black plastic pieces.

I used SEM for my parcel shelf carpet.

Done with the thread jacking, I swear!

Washing the body down today cleaning every last bit of dust and debris from the long blocking and guide coating stage preparing for being rolled into the booth tonight or tomorrow.

                Woooo almost there!

You should keep it that ride height after paint. Never have to worry about smashing your front lip

did I miss the color that you're going with? Back to alpine white?

for being so specific in keeping the car original as to not update a timing cover and recreate seem sealer, you'd think you would also go with an older original version of alpine white.

Is there a reason that this detail didn't matter so much?

Because my M5 and X3 are AW3, and I hate how dingy AW2 is.

No one is going to know its AW3 anyway just looking at it, it will just look fresh.

By dingy you mean it scratches etc easier? I didn't realize that AW3 was updated for this reason.

Are you going to put a AW2 sticker on the shock tower?
