Oh, and on the most basic level, your wheels and current stance looks downright sexy.

Thank you, Its came a long way, and I'm really just half way done.. Glad I can express my vision and share an of the out of the box way or non trending way to do mods based on function. Id say Cup holders, Terrible sounding VDO radios, and LTO bodykits get a lot of votes, Can't stand it.
Anyways, plenty of items still need to be adapted or updated, then rewarded with driving. :)

Since day one here I dreamed building like an ultimate E30 and contributing the build threads like everyone else. Regardless, R3V is just a proper place to keep documentation of the build. Wish others would join and contribute, instead of fixin for Digital Crack.
I'm sure my ultimate 2003 build E30 wouldn't be like today, And so on if I ever do another.

I have full tint on the car including the windshield. I really do think this helped the deer coming into the car, But on the flip side the side window stayed together and whipped around into the side of me.

I really need to do an outside video drive by of the car coming and going before it goes down for another round this winter.

Oh boy they are. That anodizing will fool you. Seems like the Powder Coating Shop striper solution gets laughed at by the anodizing too..

i'm glad you're okay after that deer strike, man, i've seen pictures of a fatal accident where one went *through* the windshield of a jeep cherokee and they were just... all kinds of bad.
They are great seats for lanky folks. I almost have 17000 miles in them in the last 2 years. Would do again. Since reupholstered they arn't as comfortable, but they used thicker backed padding behind the leather in a few spots... If that was sorted, they should be just a as good as before..

It has me considering running A pillar forward bars when I do a weld in cage. But id only do it if I can graph them in like that Piper Motorsports V10 E30M. Were rocking tin cans, love em. I have to say, I was pretty silent for hours afterwards as we were rolling pretty quick just a few minutes before the accident.

It start to settle in and absorb the damage. If I drive the car 10,000 miles a year, stuff is bound to happen.. I recap some photos of the damage. The fender doesn't bother me to much. But the LR quarter and the pillar does. I hope a PDR guy can make something of it. I'm Just not ready for paint.

We were lucky the deer didn't come in, I really think the tint on the windshield helped. It makes me thing about running tubing to the A pillars while doing the weld in cage. I have a feeling the L side A pillar is tweaked.

Moving on, body shops are backed up and its too nice quit driving. So finally start finalizing some things for track day prep!

A new driveshaft made my Powertrain Industries. Swapping out the E36 driveshaft to using an E30 CSB took hours, come to find hour they didn't machine enough area to allow for the dust shields.... FFF Whatever. I also tried this style of CSB to see if it tighten things up. It just caused vibration. I appears like the 3 bolt flange on the driveshaft isn't precise enough to tighten up the and take tolerance out from the CSB. The cheap CSB works fine. I replaced the driveshaft because the clutch chatter while taking off was really slapping the driveshaft and you could hear play and chatter in it. The U joints had axial play.

BAD VIBRATION - JXB CSB, I really think its poor tolerance in the 3 bolt driveshaft

I had these titanium bolts laying around for a while ready for this moment!

Another thing I didn't like was crap paint they used on the driveshaft. It'll be flaking and rusty and no time. YAY... At least I got keep my core. It also felt heavier, I didn't have time to weigh, Really trying to make that dust shields go on the CBS ate up hours. FFFF.

Fresh set of RT660 ready to go on

    Time for another used windshield...

FFFFFFF About and 1/8 Pushed out.. FFFFFFF

Luckily I had an extra gasket and lock strip laying around the shop. Hope it'll seal the elements out now.. Tried another color for a windshield strip, it was a tough one to lay and didn't turn out well, Color is soso..

New wheels on and I am loving them!

Little test drive to coffee to see how they feel

Fresh wash, must be ready for another trip! Fixed the windshield banner..

    NEW Zakspeed Sticker

    Polished up the tip!

    TBC

    Prog?

    Chapter: Thalia & Melpomene
    PT. Deux

Oh deer.... We, me and the Girl Friend are alright. I'm a lil scratch up from the broken glass. Were a bit stranded though..

    FUCK

    FUCK

    FUCK

    SHIT

2 hour or so away from the destination.

When in these situations police calls dispatch for the local tow truck just to get the car off the road. Kicking out the window and traveling on wasn't going to work, I was trying... Then the car goes to some random lot... Its Sunday night. I was lucky the tow truck driver / company owner was a racer. It wasn't Cheap, but we got the E30 towed to Watkins Glen that evening. We spent most the time in between unsure of what to do being stranded next to nowhere. Being delayed 6+ hours were back on our way...

We got to catch some needed company and friends at the Seneca Lodge and start clearing out minds. Next morning it takes a while to make up a game plan. No glass shops have an E30 front windshield. No warehouse's east of the Mississippi had an after market E30 windshield. ALL of Safelite phone numbers go to the same damn voice mail to go to their website where a form was filled out 4 times. To this day, nobody has called. Nothing really used local.

    We set off.

Taxi to the local airport a rental Prius, South bound and down.

Another stop at Gutan Parts! A used windshield and side window acquired.

    4H back..

We get some tools on the way back, and I gather some more at Walmart including a shop vac..., we get back I get the side window in. Next morning I get the windshield in, Plenty used to installing these as no windshield shop locally can get this right. We spend 3 hours cleaning glass and dear guts out of the car and were ready to hit the road just in time to turn in the rental.

The Glass is a bit laminated and cracked, But It'll work..

Off we go again. Our free day to go hiking was absorbed, but were alive and back on the road..

Kinda funny, were were just here pretty much. Back to Philadelphia.

    The Met

Its been a while and I melted. The Mars Volta

    Is this month over yet?

Great night in Philly of to Pitts.

And we've made it back, Home town pub.

Good to back at the shop...
