Not sure where you got the scorned, bitter or can't get laid from though.
just imparting my wisdom for you young folk.

There are a major freak out times in a women's life that are connected to age.
the first one is when she hits 21 and becomes a drunken whore. His will usually last about 2 years or so and will begin to taper off at around 23 or so depending on the girl. This is the point where you can start looking at scooping one up and having a decent relationship with one. They are usually starting to become stable and established with housing and a somewhat decent job that they can support themselves with.

The next one comes at 29/30. OMG OMG OMG! I am going to be 30 and I am still single, what do I dooooooo? Try to avoid this age because it is full of pressure to get married and settle down with no particular logic to it. It is just looking to join what is concidered the status quo and be "normal". Once the jump that 30 mark, there s really no irrational surprises that will pop up that can't be dealt with rationally.

Let me echo Buddy in saying "HAVE THEIR OWN MONEY!" You control yours, they control theirs. Unless you are being stupid with your money, she has no right to tell you what to do with yours. If one has to support the other, resentment will develop at some point.
shared expenses like kids, housing, food, utilities, etc should be just that shared.

Lastly women love assholes, they like the challenge, think think they can change you, etc.
I am not saying you can't be nice, just not a doormat. Once they knows that they completely dominate you, they will loose interest and start to stray or atleast start to look and concider it. If you are single and want to get laid, asshole is where it is at!

Sadly, nearly all of this is true.

Let's make something clear, there's a HUGE difference between being a single dude, wanting to get laid and say, someone that wants to be in a relationship.

This is not how you conduct a relationship. It'll leave you more or less alone and lonely. And, a girl wanting a relationship, not a project or a fixer-upper or, or... but someone comes into it with a basic idea of who she is already? Damn, that's a relationship. My wife, for example. She avoided the whole 21-23 freak outs and has been an upstanding woman most of her life without being an utter prude-bitch.

It pretty much comes down to the fact that the super hot girl you want to give a ride on your skin bus, may not be (actually most likely wont be) the best one to have a relationship with.

The decent pretty girl with direction, a decent job ( also read as financially responsible ) and some common interests, will always trump the hot slut at the bar.

Yeah man, you pretty much nailed it. In my younger years just being an asshole brought women in like crazy. Substance and not being a prick ass helps but, in general the younger women that don't have a clue how to function rationally or responsibly? Bat shit crazy girls fuck.......well in a bat shit crazy way. It is fun for a little while, but it gets old pretty quickly. You will also find, the older you get, the shorter your tollerance is for the bat shit crazy anticks.

I spent my whole college career trying to be a perfect gentlemen and all around good guy to girls I really liked and would get shafted by every one of them. So you were smart enough to get yourself into college but not smart enough to realize in high school that being a gentleman before you graduate college gets you NO WHERE.

There is a difference between being an asshole and being interesting. Assholes have beef with alot of people, interesting guys are LIKED by both female and males. Intersting doesnt mean some corny ass "i smoke from a sherlock pipe". It means being funny, confident, and cocky(bread and butter). Back handed compliments are a perfect example.

You mention the girls you couldnt careless about throw themselves at you.... well you said in that sentance why they throw themselves at you, because "you couldnt careless".
