$250 for a car versus $250 on a plane ticket, the choice is easy.

But trip or no trip, I'm $250 into an e30 with $700 wheels. Not too shabby, and for the money the car will make me or fun I'll have in it I really don't give two shits about how pissed the gf is.

HE is 20............SHE is 21!
The chances for failure are HIGH. She is discovering the magic created by bars, booze, and having a vagina. That is all she needs to garner attention from a bar full of men. Women love attention and she will have it in spades. Very few relationships make it much past the 21 hump.

Before you go investing tons into this, concider the fact that it will probably crap out soon anyways. Also at your age, there is too much infront of you to get tied up in marriage. Experience life, THEN think about going further.

not that at all, i just find it funny when guys complain about having a girl that "takes all their money" or some other variation of someone else telling him how he should spend his money.

If she had her own money, she wouldn't need to dictate to him how to spend it, or maybe she would, but then you know you can kick her to the curb.

Women want equal rights, pick up your half of the living expenses to start.

However, in ops case, you are spending yourself into the poor house. If buying a beatup e30 means you can't buy a $300 plane ticket, then you need to rethink how you spend your money..........girlfriend or not.

Those are things that you need to deal with and will prepare you for the future if you wanna get married. It gets worst coz then there will be mortgage and kids.

So right now, I would just suggest to enjoy life and enjoy your E30.

Not sure where you got the scorned, bitter or can't get laid from though.
just imparting my wisdom for you young folk.

There are a major freak out times in a women's life that are connected to age.
the first one is when she hits 21 and becomes a drunken whore. His will usually last about 2 years or so and will begin to taper off at around 23 or so depending on the girl. This is the point where you can start looking at scooping one up and having a decent relationship with one. They are usually starting to become stable and established with housing and a somewhat decent job that they can support themselves with.

The next one comes at 29/30. OMG OMG OMG! I am going to be 30 and I am still single, what do I dooooooo? Try to avoid this age because it is full of pressure to get married and settle down with no particular logic to it. It is just looking to join what is concidered the status quo and be "normal". Once the jump that 30 mark, there s really no irrational surprises that will pop up that can't be dealt with rationally.

Let me echo Buddy in saying "HAVE THEIR OWN MONEY!" You control yours, they control theirs. Unless you are being stupid with your money, she has no right to tell you what to do with yours. If one has to support the other, resentment will develop at some point.
shared expenses like kids, housing, food, utilities, etc should be just that shared.

Lastly women love assholes, they like the challenge, think think they can change you, etc.
I am not saying you can't be nice, just not a doormat. Once they knows that they completely dominate you, they will loose interest and start to stray or atleast start to look and concider it. If you are single and want to get laid, asshole is where it is at!
