I read about 15 posts in this thread and decided I'm gonna go grill myself some burgers. Hell, I'm gonna add a couple slices of bacon too.

How can you deny yourself of this happiness?

Just look how happy they are, all because of meat.

          yummers.

Right, you posted one link to a body builder who probably spends his whole day eating 1,500 pounds of lettuce to get 200 grams of protein. To be that ripped and be a veggy, that is way to much work and requires complete dedication and lots of time. Now go look at any other professional body builders diet and let me know how many celery sticks and strawberries you see in it.

            1) unless you are a Body Builder as profession you will never have time to look like the guy you linked as a veggy.

Can I still be vegan if I eat Venus Fly Traps?

There is a pretty cool book called "Healthy at 100" which explores the common traits amongst societies with high percentages of centenarian population. The common traits are as follows:
                  1. Moderate daily exercise of the low stress kind such as gardening, walking etc.
                  2. A lower than normal caloric intake.
                  3. A diet rich in whole fruits and vegetable.
                  4. Consuming few animal products, no more than a few portions per week.
                  5. Having a sense of purpose.
                  6. Socializing daily with friends and family.
                  7. Being happy.
                  8. Consuming little or no alcohol, cigarettes, etc.

Now of course you can live a long and happy life eating lots of meat, but statistically, it's not a common trait amongst the healthiest and longest living individuals. At the same time, you can be a strict vegan but if you skip the other characteristics listed, you also probably won't live a long and healthy life. Or you can just bank on the statistic that you will be one of the 25% or so of people that die from an accident, then really diet and nutrition matter little.

                    why so much hate?

vegans/vegetarians leave more meat for the carnivores. carnivores keel over from cardiac arrest and leave more oxygen for the vegans.

                    it's a perfectly balanced system.

Wow I didn't think I'd come across someone more ignorant than last night in seaside... but alas, here you are.

1)The guy in the picture IS a bodybuilder...
2)you link me a post from a fitness site that is titled "Vegetarians suck balls" filled with bad grammar and zero science or proof? Good argument.
                      3) You're*

I could stop there, but I may have to try to inform more ignorant people like you. Have you ever heard of supplements? There is vegan protein powder out that is zero (edit)carb, low fat and high in protein. That is EXACTLY what bodybuilders need to recover from work outs, whether vegan or not. Also, you can get protein and all of your BCAAs from non-animal foods like beans or peas.

Even though I don't subscribe to the vegan culture, you can build muscle on their diets, albeit slower and maybe not as much in an amount of time compared to a meat eating BB. If Calories in > Calories Exhausted, you gain weight.

Need more proof that vegan bodybuilding is viable? Here you go. And this. And all of these.
                      And even more.

Would I be wrong if I guessed that you've never been to a gym since high school required it?

Will you call PETA if you accidentally eat the fly in your soup?

Do you feel bad when you consume animal crackers?
