So Friday I put around 4500 dollars worth of work into an e60 535ix it needed injectors and a new DME along with programming the DME. Fast forward to today and I’m watching the new at ten and what do I see? The same car I just worked on crush by a tree after they picked it up. I recognized it cause of the license plate.

My wife’s M135i cabby car has 1 month left on the warranty, so we drop it off last week,to have the dealer look for anything that can be done under warranty. I also knew we had been limping along on a weak battery(8 yrs old) and had a broken led strip in one of the rear lights that wouldn’t be under warranty, but I was going to have replaced anyway while it’s there.

I bought the lights and battery and had the dealer install it and code the battery to the car, while they had it.

They found a few oil leaks that they did under warranty, and did the other stuff under the warranty time. All in it was about 4K in warranty work I didn’t pay for, and about $500 in parts I did.

Then, this week, my wife trades the car in on a newer M235i cab.

What a waste of my fkn time and money. I might as well have burned the money.

These new BMW’s I wouldn’t own with out a warranty. To damn expensive to fix. I’m guessing they probably fixed the oil filter housing gasket and probably a belt tensioner.
