So you get a set of wheels (value $1500 or less), or she gets a dog that requires a lot of time, barks, and over the course of its lifetime will very likely cost much more than $1500.

Even if you'd like to have a dog, I don't see how that's a good deal. Just buy your own wheels and tell her to deal with it.

i think situations like this are all about the challenge. if it were me, i would make the bet....just because.

Your main house drain is plugged. You need to find pipe and pop the cap off it and run a really long snake down it. To push the plug out to the main line in the street. Once you do that shove your garden hose down it and let it run for a little while but not on full blast. That will insure that any left overs get washed out and the line is clean. I have gone through the same thing. My dads been a plumber for 30+ years.

Better yet, Google "drain cleaning bladder". Get one of the appropriate size, hook it to your garden hose, push it in the cleanout as deep as it will go. Turn that fucker on full blast!!!! Its possible your blockage is between the cleanout and your house. If the first instruction doesnt work, take off the downstairs toilet closest to your outside line, insert said bladder again and blast away.
