Its all in fun just trying to get a general idea it's a private poll. I just about all these story's about people wrecking there e30s in single accidents and they only carried liability......you pour thousands of dollars into your car and you leave it uninsured....doesn't make much sense

Some of us just have ours modified beyond what insurance would cover.

For instance, If I had full insurance, and I wrecked my car, the insurance company would not be too happy to see that I had a small block Ford in a car that is supposedly a stock 4cyl car.

        Go here be happy!

It's not that I don't value my E30, I just can't get full coverage at a price that makes any sense.

'Full coverage' isn't a real term, but I carry comp and uninsured PD on my 325 and the 16v. Maximum for UC is 3500 in CA, so if someone hits me I'll either work through their carrier or up to a max 3500 if they have no insurance and keep the clean title to part or fix...e30s total out so easily.

If I screw up, I've faced the fact I won't get anything.

                  Look at it.

Think its worth it? At all? It'd probably be appraised at $tree fiddy. Even though it probably has more hartge, ACS, and other rare bits and bobs than Guten parts has in their shop.

Current car, basic since I got it for a few grand and is a daily beater (nice by a lot of e30 owner standards, though), insurance will pay about what I have into it, and since it's a daily, collectors won't cover it. Previous car had $10k collectors insurance, got wrecked, they paid it out no questions asked - but it was extremely nice, paint job was more than most people will spend on a whole e30, plus it had 80k miles and 100% mint interior - didn't get back what I had in that one :(

Looking into Hagerty before my lachs car even sees the streets. Hopefully I qualify.

That's why I did Hagerty. I think they only insure classics and hot rods, which is what I guess a 318is with an S52 is...FWIW. The car is clean, garaged, and get's driven about 4K/yr.

Victor, I haven't, but with the specialty they ask for a few pictures, and it's an agreed upon value. I did mine, and my brother did his 993. I don't know if an appraisal is worth it unless for some reason you could shake it in an adjuster's face and tell him no, your car was not in fact a $1500 heap.

Hargerty doesn't have 1991 318is listed in their Vehicle Valuation database...
How did you set it up? What did they value your car at?
