    You can quickly get an e36 M3 under 3000 pounds by switching out the Vaders with something lighter and removing the rear seat. Vaders are around 60 pounds each!

    But I guess you'd add that weight back in with a turbo hanging off your engine and a proper cage installed.

            I don't know why I'm so against this. It's actually a solid route to go if I'm in the mood for a real build. Up for consideration for sure.

                    Iron block V8 and an automatic transmission in a miata? that's retarded. Miatas aren't even a remotely good chassis for drag racing and that's all it would be good for after that swap.

                        Miata v8 drift car. Because miatas are sooo fun to drive stock, imagine how ridiculous it would be with 400hp

                          I've decided to resist the temptation though. Going to stick with the S4. Single turbo and rods, then if/when the block cracks I will go VR6 for real big power.

                          As long as I keep wtq around 650ft lbs, the block might hold together.

                              Miata is a shite choice for drag. Short wheelbase, IRS, lots of work required in the rear to take any kind of punishment.

                                Aluminium, naturally aspirated LS + TR6060 would be better in a Miata. Probably even better in an E36 though.
