 I agree, nice ride!

Up here in Canada the manual FXT is relatively common. If it's got tits or tires, it's gonna cost ya!Comment

^ you def want to get that lean situation sorted out because it can kill your motor and then you will wish you had your e30 issues back.

Well just wrote a whole post and it dissapeared. Anyways, nice subies!!

I was gonna get an e46 zhp but I couldn't justify the price at the time, and I wasn't working in service at the bmw dealer I work at so I didn't want another bmw. (german reliabilty may be a myth?) IMO so I was like shit lets get something like a subaru.

And the e30 was not the optimal daily because of these reasons
 1. unreliable/ dangerous/risky Had a tie rod nut fall off at luckily low speed. Got kinda hot in traffic (Po said otherwise) Had an idler pulley's plastic fall off and was burning belt all the way home. It was super loud/ low oil pan as well
 2. No safety. I really don't care that much but the amount of "spirited" driving versus commuting driving I was doing was not worth the risk of dying.
 3. Stereo was shit. the subie's is pretty bad too but much better than the e30.
 4. e30 is rwd (barely a problem) but my parents wouldn't let me get snows for our mini.

 That's about it.

Anyways it's funny you guys scoffed at the reliability, because the subie has a problem! I don't drive it very hard but was curious to how it runs so I datalogged a WOT pull in 3rd then 4th. If you check the graph (idk if you have to make an account to view) it leans out to 20:1. Amazed it didn't break a piston or something but it didn't detonate or anything so that's good. I'm pretty sure it's going to be the fuel pump as the culprit. It seems like it just drops off and can't keep up with the high load. It runs perfectly at partial throttle up to redline and just cruising around out of boost. When the car was tuned it had a wideband in the exhaust and ran a consistent 11.2:1 according to the dyno chart. I will be pressure testing it tuesday and will report back with info.

oh shit that posted haha. And yea dude I was like wow..... super sketchy. Idk how far the diagnostics on the car go but it didn't throw any codes or anything even at 20:1 for lean mixture or something.BMW tech

I used to really like the WRX/STi models, but when I bought my E30(bone stock), I traded keys with my friend's modded blobeye and I couldn't believe how massive the car felt. I know an E30 is a tiny car, but the WRX felt and carried itself like a much larger vehicle than it looks. My fanboyism slowly died starting then.

I still love GC8's, and maybe I'll import one someday if they're not all gone before I get around to it.Originally posted by priapismMy girl don't know shit, but she bakes a mean cupcake.Originally posted by shamesonUsually it's best not to know how much money you have into your e30Comment

I love the gc8 and the gf8 as well. I was trying to find a NA 2.5 gf8 to put coils and wheels on and do some maintanence and call it a day but couldn't find one.I used to really like the WRX/STi models, but when I bought my E30(bone stock), I traded keys with my friend's modded blobeye and I couldn't believe how massive the car felt. If I were to sell my bmw, I'd want to replace it with an old ford 4x4 truck. Something from the 80's. But if I had to have a car, it'd be a Saab 92x - the bastard child of GM owning both Saab and Subabu during 2004 and 2005, resulting in a finely tuned version of the blobeye WRX.

That being said, my e30 made it across the country. I made sure I upgraded my stereo for the trip though...

The bumper and tails really do make all the difference!

Funny enough, it actually gets more attention than my e30 haha. Everywhere I go there's a lesbian or a super-dad complimenting it and asking about gas mileage and other things like "w0w that h00d sc00p is gnar brah!" or "wow I could fit all of my girlfriends in there!"

Thanks man! Interesting that they sent more up there. It's the perfect 'compromise' vehicle, as I call it.

Haha that article is gold. Why not a Chevy Forester then? ;)

I'm surprised at all the Subaru hate in this thread. I also have no idea why they are associated with lesbians but whatever. I drive a 2014 Impreza wagon with the CVT. It gets 35mpg on the highway, has a good amount of space with the back seat down for hauling stuff, and it was 10 grand cheaper than other AWD cars. Before I got it I daily drove an e30 ever since I was a teenager. The e30 was constantly breaking so even having working windshield wipers was nice. I love my Lezbaru.Comment
