16in DD barrel, A2 bird cage flash hider, mega upper, DSA lower (since my mega didn't come in time, black panther parts kit, DD 12in free float lite rail system, and a lmt low profile gas block. O the barrel is a 1/7 twist in 5.56.

Well I want to buy a new Marlin. Ive never owned one but fird a .357, .38 and the 450 Marlin.

I really fell in love with the simplicity of the action and th old timey feel of the overall rifle.

SO long story short Im interested in the .44 mag/.44 special, I want something chambered in handgun ammo for the price and being able to shoot it at the ranges in my area. But also somethign powerfull enough to try and do some deer hunting. (I have a .30-06)

The model 1894 in either blued or SS is the one im interested in. Anyone ever own one or have any exp with one?

Marlin is a good solid gun, I would get the 44mag if it was me.

I want one in 45/70 govt in minimum length for a brush/scabbard gun for my horse while in the back country to keep bears away

In my area a sporting goods store is selling Mosin Nagant 1891/30's for $200. Right now there havign a sale and they are $150. Im thinking about buying one. If I get one, im going to pick the one in the best condition. The only thing is ill probably have to order the 7.62x54R ammo. Which isnt such a bad thing because i can order in bulk and save $. What do you guys think?

I have a finnish M/N 91/30 VKT its one of the best guns I have, its really loud and every one at the range wants to know WTF is that when it goes off. You can still get Russian factory F bulk ammo in 880 round tins for like 285 bucks. Its corrosive and you will need to clean it good after you use it.


You can fire that thing all day non stop and it wont hurt it a bit, mine tracks a little up and left as it warms up and the groups get tighter the hotter it is. they are battle rifles and hard to kill.

GO FOR IT you used to be able to buy new and re maned ones still in cosmoline for 150 bucks all day long 10 years ago

You can find them cheaper then that. I got mine for 90 bucks when it wasn't on sale.

It dosent appear that they will let you have them send it a FFL. According to their rules you have to have your license on file with them before ordering.

If you dont have a C&R they will ship one to your local FFL. The price is going to change though.
