also - what needs to happen is the goverment has to shrink. they've gotten into every little corner of our lives, and their grip is only getting tighter. Cutting taxes and borrowing more is one thing, but that's not what we need. we need less taxes *and* less government, not more.

And I fail to see how taxing more *and* spending more through debt is any better..

I agree, and I also don't see how giving billions of dollars in tax breaks and royalty concessions to the oil industry is helping - especially considering that big oil is breaking profit records every quarter.

I think the healthcare bill is a sales pitch - much like everything that's come out of McCain's mouth in the last 6 months.

I can't wait to see McCain win and turn his back on the people who helped elect him. He's at least as liberal as Obama. The difference is - Obama doesn't lie about his liberalism.

You mean because of the socialist legislation that Bush is about to sign to bail out the banks and homeowners?

I couldn't agree more, but do you honestly think that McCain is any better than Obama (and vice versa) in that respect?

i call bullshit. it is exactly what he has always done, missing votes when they could be used against him down the road. now he's moving as fast towards the center as he is allowed to do by move-on and other far wacko left orgs. it is the same tactic used by most lefties, run as moderate and govern as lib.

You think that giving $18 BILLION + to the oil industry is helping anything other than the oil companies?

Do they teach "cronyism" in econ classes? How about "buttslamming the consumer"?

                          Please.

McCain is the exact opposite of the man he was in 2007, and you want to bitch about Obama's center play?

McCain is the only one that has refused to take advantage of earmarks, something O man loves.
say what yu will about McCain, and i really really do not like the guy, but fiscally he is light years above O man.

That is truth. Obama is literally running 2 seperate campaigns; one in the black community and one in the white community. why do you think he always puts white people behind him when he speaks? why do you think the has all of those errs and uggghhhs when he doesn't have a speech written? He is on a dental floss thin tightrope where one gaff could completely expel his average 4% lead over McCain in ten seconds.

Bush can't talk, but that's because he can't talk. Obama can't talk because he has to chose his words so carefully every time his mouth moves for fear of loosing all moment/traction/ratings that he has to stumble to formulate vanilla enough response not to piss people off.

Edit: I can't imagine how much stress that guy must be under.
