Those who are left on this board who know me also know I will not chime in unless my ire has been raised or I know what I am talking about. In this particular matter it is both. I will weigh in and then disappear back in to the shadows once again! This blatant anti Semitic rhetoric has got me ole Jewish blood boiling!
For 3000 years the Jews have been harassed, beaten and killed by different societies. Now in the 20th century Great Britain feels nice and gives the Jews a piece of land in the middle of the desert that has been important to them since biblical times. Admittedly this area is also of religious importance to many other religions. Once the state of Israel was recognized by the United Nations the Arab world set out to destroy it. In a series of battles and wars through the 60's and 70's the Israelis have taken land and occupied it as is allowed in the doctrines of war and the Geneva Convention.
After the creation of the Israeli state the Israeli Government offered many Arab and Palestinian settlers in this land double what their land was worth so they could build Kibbutz and settlements for the new Israeli Citizens. The Arabs and the Palestinians gladly accept this money and move away. Years later these same people run out of money and are now crying for their land back. They accuse the Israelis of stealing their property and throwing them out. This is so far from the truth that it is ridiculous.
They have allowed the Palestinians to stay and have treated them well through all of the anti Israeli sentiment of the Palestinian Organizations refusal to recognize the right of Israel to exist. The Palestinians have clearly stated they will not rest until there is not a single Jew left alive. Yet the Israelis have not gone in and wholesale ejected all of these people out of Israel. They have repeatedly given back land that was rightfully taken in the spoils of war. They have openly negotiated with Terrorists for peace as these same terrorists launch Rockets and set bombs to kill Israeli citizens.
How can we look down out noses at he Israelis when all they are trying to do is survive. Yes, the United States supplies the Israelis with weapons. But who is supplying the Palestinians with their arms? Lets take a roll call on this one. Iran, Syria, China and Russia are all in the mix here. The Chinese and the Russians are selling to the highest bidder these days. The Iranians and the Syrians have lots of Oil money to spend. They buy the weapons and then these weapons are then smuggled in to the settlements and used against the Israelis.
Joshh I think you need a serious lesson in world history. If you ever get a chance to come to Cali I would highly recommend a trip to the Museum of Tolerance and the Jewish University at Stephen S. Wise Temple. Both of these places have huge archives of historical documents open for public review. As a Jew and descendant of Holocaust Jews I have spent many hours in these places studying and gathering information for my own personal edification. Let us not forget what has happened or we are doomed to repeat it! Do some studying Josh, get some facts together and them come back to the table informed of things that have really transpired in Israel. I at this point I will disengage as it is tantamount to have a battle of with an unarmed person.
