Not worried about it, I've come out of IngleWatts alive with my car and other belongings intact.
Much of your crime problem there comes from many of the criminals we booted the hell out :finger:
Someone mentioned "boohoo they aren't getting refunds" I was just trying to point out that SOME do pay into the system and for fear of getting arrested don't get much out of it. And definitely don't get to take advantage of possible tax write offs (when they have 6 kids they have a bunch).
Anyhow. The focus on paying/not paying taxes to me is the weakest argument. The bigger problem with the immigration is the part where they drive up living costs when they are willing to live 8 to a garage, 2 families to a room in a 2 or 3 bedroom home paying $200+ a person. At the same time they massively drive down wages, especially the ones working under the table.
We then get the issue of having enclaves. Areas where you don't need to speak our horrible concept of a language, just make it that much harder for anyone to assimilate. I had a great article that showed how 5 siblings life differed when several left these areas and had to force themselves to assimilate... they lived the "American Dream" the ones that didn't have been here illegally for 20+ years and live in a marginally better situation they did in the shit hole they came from.
Having a false identification means the rest of us get to foot the bill on their medical expenses, which federal laws state everyone has to be helped.
Then we add in the problem of education, many don't speak the language, and California in a retarded and failed attempt to some how "stop the problem" decided to pass a law banning any teaching in spanish (except to teach English). The rate at which we were getting taught was so fucking slow there was little reason to go to class for all 5 days of the week! *
I've known a few people that came here illegally and at least 1 of them nearly got deported, INS kicking ass there. Luckily (as odd as this may sound) for him he chose to use false identification so he could show he paid taxes and was a productive member of society. Used this information in court to get the judge to allow him to stay and get him slightly closer to his citizenship... he's been working on that for nearly 9 years with all sorts of BS/tie ups from the immigration services.
*Sad thing is the education I got from this horrible system still beats that of many parts of the midwest I've been to where high school graduates born and raised there can't even get my order right at the McD's drive-through.
Alkasquawlik: Seeing as you have a obviously huge problem with Immigration, might I recommend you start bitching more about SF than LA. SF is a sanctuary city and last reports I heard they were WELCOMING VIOLENT Columbian CRIMINALS to stay in the city and avoid prosecution.

We've discussed the income tax and EITC here many times, adding millions of low paying jobs will end up lowering revenues because we have many more people getting even more benefits than they pay for.
Lee, it's obvious you have done no research regarding illegals in America. many school districts across the Southwest are going broke because they can't police illegal/legal in the classroom. Even if the parents are here illegally if the child is born in the country, bang the child is a US citizen and has access to all the benefits of being a citizen, even though their parents aren't paying taxes.
And the employers are a HUGE part of the problem. There should be SEVERE penalties for hiring illegals.
And a big fucking wall that separates them from us.
