He's kept us out of war with Iran. He's also managed to keep his cool all while dealing with a collapsed financial market, bearing the pressure of being the first half-black, half-white president, and a heavily right-wing weighted congress.

On a personal note, I owned 0 BMW's when he first took office. Now I own 2 of them. I know that's not necessarily a quantifier of a great president but hey.

No it is not a quantifier at all!
Well let me say this, if anything has gone wrong while Obama has been President it is anyone's fault but his own and if anything has gone right then the Obama administration has taken credit.

              uh, not quite right sir
for the first two years he's had anything but a right wing congress, just the opposite in fact

I'm aware that the first two years were under different congressional conditions. I should have also pointed out having to deal with wars on 2 fronts. And really the only president to inherit worse conditions economically speaking was Harry Truman.

And by "reaping the rewards of those two years" I assume you mean all of this:

I didn't say he was perfect. Then again, neither was the beloved Reagan who incurred unemployment rate peaks of 9.7% in 1982 and 9.6% in 1983.

I was 2 years old when he was elected and 11 when he left office. I obviously didn't pay much attention to politics at the time but remember feeling proud of his efforts to end the cold war and get the Berlin wall torn down. I'm reminded of it every time I change an original fuel filter that says, "Made in W. Germany"

reagan is widely heralded as a great republican president. i cant count how many middle aged republican business owners have said that they, "wish they could go back to the reagan days."

Regan lowered the tax rates (BY A LOT form 70% or so to 28% marginal for the top bracket) and closed loopholes and eliminated some deductions. along with lowering the capital gains tax. Revenue went way the fuck up a few years latter too. He was handed a huge fucking mess from the Cater era, and its Regan and then a continuation of his policy with bush 41 that are responsible for the glory years that all dems point to of the Clinton budget. Clinton's Actions in strengthening much of what Jimmy peanut did is what has lead us to were we are today in many ways. The 0 and the fed are now paying the banks to not loan out any money there by just prolonging the pain and trying to recreate the great depression so we can pass more huge sweeping entitlements and basically break the US middle class for ever.

It was bush 41 that campaigned on "read my lips no new taxes"
