Someone mentioned there isn't a need for a large stockpile of firearms and ammo.
22 years ago in Los Angeles there were city wide rioting. People beaten to death, homes and business looted and burned down. Korean living there defended their home and business with firearms because the police weren't responding. The police mostly guarded nicer neighborhoods like Beverly Hills. Bunch of people would didn't own guns before tried to purchase them during the riots weren't able to. Most stores sell out right away soon after any incident due to panic. In CA there is a safety certification card you need to purchase a handgun and a 10 day cool down period for any firearm.
Natural disaster and shortage of food and water also bring out looters and other opportunis.
No one needs 15 rounds

That's right, the solution to gun crime is more guns.
In other breaking news: the solution to obesity is more junk food, the solution to HIV/AIDS is more unprotected sex, and the solution to cancer is to smoke cigarettes.Leave a comment:

Smells like projection to me.Please explain to me how facts and evidence (of which I've posted much in this thread) are a sign of mental weakness, dishonesty or self-deception. Considering I have yet to see you post even a shred of evidence to back up your claims, I find your assertions to be rather backwards.
If you can show me any kind of data that proves more guns = less crime, or that the government really is plotting to take all of your guns away, or that gun control is not only ineffective by counter-effective, I'd happily receive it with an open mind. I might even change my opinion. But since everything you've said is just your own personal opinion and feelings, I'm not inclined to do so at this point.

During the North Hollywood shootout a gunmen had 100 rd drum and it jammed, he discard the rifle soon after. Large capacity magazines aren't that reliable especially for pistols.Leave a comment:

Maybe we need more, the number of CCW licensed to full adult population is abysmal. I don't suggest all people should be armed at all times, some people don't have the fortitude to train properly or make the correct shoot/no shoot call.Leave a comment:

Its just so mentally weak. Worse, it is dishonest. It is really rather depressing that some people are so capable of self-deception. Humans are masters at lying to themselves.
Corvallis, thanks for the contributions to the community here over the years. Your work on the m30 cooling stuff will come in handy when I get mine done. I hope there are no hard feelings regarding this stuff.Leave a comment:

Do you really feel that having an armed responsible citizen with a 17 round magazine in their Glock wouldn't be a better way to stop an active shooter instead of "waiting for a reload"?Leave a comment:

I disagree, it does make a difference. Every time a shooter has to reload, he/she opens themselves up to being stopped by people nearby. Want proof?
Jared Loughner (the Tuscon, AZ shooter) was tackled by a bystander when he went to reload: http://abcnews.go.com/US/heroes-rep-...ry?id=12580345
It was successful in Littleton at Deer Creek Middle School.

It worked at Kelly Elementary.
It worked at the law school shooting, though the shooter appeared done with shooting (captured, not stopped)...

In every single one of those cases, the shooter was stopped when he/she paused to reload. If you have a 10-round mag and want to shoot 100 bullets, you'll be forced to reload 9 times. That's 9 opportunities for the gunmen to be stopped. If you have a 100-round drum mag, suddenly there's 0 opportunity to be stopped. So yes, it makes a huge difference.Leave a comment:
