Let’s talk about Antifa.

you're calling the tactics "fascism in response to fascism". you can grow some intellectual integrity and stop putting words in my mouth anytime now, because i never agreed with that.Leave a comment:

He's already admitted multiple times he thinks it's ok to fight fascism with fascism, because the end justifies the means.Leave a comment:

So decay, i honestly don't know
Did Antifa protest as they do today against Obama spying on reporters? Which, and correct me please if I'm wrong, would clearly be a fascist method of intimidation.Leave a comment:

the cop i used to date used that with me as a term of endearment.
not right. see my list of military contractors above, the war we're in that's old enough to vote, and the fact that black lives matter is also a thing- the government using violence to actually enforce the law is atypical and usually incidental. The gov't uses violence typically to protect or enforce laws created by citzens. Laws are the collective determination of what's right and wrong. Right?Leave a comment:

Im confused with the point you're making. Maybe you can clarify without calling me a jackass.
The gov't uses violence typically to protect or enforce laws created by citzens. Laws are the collective determination of what's right and wrong. Right?
When a citzen uses violence for a cause, then it's no longer about what the majority of the public believes, but rather what that individual or minority group believes.
Now let's say the group using violence to push this agenda is in the majority, couldn't they just use their majority to push for new laws?
That's the problem i have with this. I can understand citzens using violence to make change in totalitarian governments, but I don't understand why it has to be like this in a democracy.Leave a comment:

So you’re a headbanger like all the others, eh?
Congrats. You have no chance on inspiring anyone your viewpoint is correct.
Big waste of time and money.
Suggestion:
Go teach a child to read, and see if that changes you and your view on the world.
Antifa is not some noble cause. Maybe at one time, but not now.Leave a comment:

hey jackass, don't tell me to reread the entire thread when you're not even reading what's on *this page* of itMy understanding of Antifa is based on your posts in this thread and the violence antifa has committed. I had no exposure prior to R3V. Read what you have posted in this thread which you began. This is as specific as the internet can get.
Your group advocates violence and is therefore by your definition fascist.
Antifa is fascist.
I disagree with fascism, change my mind.
that's your definition, not mine
but if that's the point you're sticking to- being willing to resort to violence makes you a fascist-
then every single american is complicit in fascism by way of sending our tax dollars to the military, halliburton, KBR, honeywell, general dynamics, northrop-grumman, list goes on and on
what *you're* saying is that government-approved violence is okay, but when a citizen does it, they should be locked up
and fuck that bootlicker shitLeave a comment:

i'm sorry gwb, but the idea that all ideas deserve equal time and consideration is fatuousHow ironic is it that Antifa is supposed to be anti-fascist, all the while being blatantly fascist in its methods and actions? I’m surprised for someone who actually cares enough to protest that you don’t see through their bullshit.
Frankly the anti-fascist is a misdirect
why do we have a military, ostensibly?
because reality is that sometimes diplomacy fails
the real irony here is that conservatives prepped and stocked up on ammo throughout the entire obama administration, thinking they were going to be taken away to concentration camps, and now that leftists are pissed off that that's a thing that is actually happening and some of us will *do* something about it, they're screaming bloody murder
possibly they're feeling inadequate because they never did anything other than buy rounds from bass pro shops and post on facebookLeave a comment:

fascism is violence
if you're going to say that violence is never acceptable, then hoo boy do i have a lot of state-sponsored violence to tell you about
like the time i got hit by an Oakland cop for telling the proud boys that their message of hate at a public funeral for a murdered black girl wasn't welcome- yeah, i might have been shouting, but shouting is not violence
like the time i was surrounded by SFPD for carrying a "water is life" flag at a nodapl protest and doing literally nothing other than standing there silently
these are the kind of actions that give rise to resistance movements. i have never tried to pretend that antifa in america is doing something new; there are many historical examples
fix the root cause and we go away. we want that to happen

Your involvement in antifa as stated in this thread.
Stating that a person who supports the democratically elected president of the USA is not worth engaging in a reasonable political discussion fits with antifa's and the left's general ideology.
I don't particularly like Trump but I like America and support democracy. It's convenient for someone associated with an organization engaged in violence to state "... anyone who supports this presidency doesn't get to fall back on "can't we just have calm and reasonable discourse"" because it excuses violence towards that 1/2 of the population with an alternative viewpoint.
Stating that trump supporters are not worthy of a calm and reasonable discussion is a way of excusing Antifa's violent and illegal activities towards those citizens.
I disagree with that because I support calm and reasonable discourse.Leave a comment:
