Do you mean like Stanced and Cambered low?
It's going to be pretty damn low, but I'm sure I could somehow etch out markings on the adjusters for my street wheels and for the 'race' tires. I'm probably exaggerating how low the car will be, or more like over estimating how much it will affect the car. It will be a little bit lower than Northern's car, so if I can jam some decent size sticky rubber under it I'd probably be just fine.

To be fair yeah this is true, it's not obscenely low, just fairly aggressive wheel fitment. I think I was just too worried about it. I'm gonna get the car geared up and hit a couple events this year to get back into it and assess where I want to go with the car once I'm done college.

You can really screw the roll center up if you go too low.

              How low are you thinking?

I rebuilt my PRO3 suspension (uses GE setup and I sectioned the housing 2.5" shorter and iX struts) and have it on the car for this weekend's Rose Cup races with SCCA. The "highest" the car sits with the taller 225/50/15 tires is 5.25 inches measured at the pinch weld. Our class minimum is 5", and if you are not close to this, you are probably not in the top 10.

You want to be low when running Wheel-to-wheel..

Autocross, I would run as low as you can without bottoming the skid plate (you have one right..) Doesn't apply to all classes, but if you are running coilovers, you are probably in a class that it would benefit you to be lower.

                  Quit whining.

Something like this will be my final ride height, but with more aggressive wheels

I've modified the car without auto-x in mind so I'm screwed as far as classing goes (M50 swap, coilovers, 5 lug). As I said before I have M3 suspension so I can add roll center adjusters if the control arms don't look good. Yes I wil have more camber than necessary in the rear, because E30, but like I said, I have the subframe riser bushings for however much they help.

I think I just need to get out as soon as I can to a local event and see how it goes.

I'm under the impression you could fit in DSP without the bump centre kit. Maybe the m3 5lug will get you anyways, but I don't know for sure.

The swap puts him in SM regardless.

Yea.....that isn't the stupid low I was referring to. Unless the site sucks you should be fine. You are definitely in SM.

SM isn't the end of the world. personally, I could care less about being seriously competitive at autox. Trailering a purpose built car for 5 minutes of seat time seems pretty ridiculous to me. on the local level you can have a lot of fun and most people aren't great drivers anyway. run what you brung!

Not sure how well attended your events are, but I ran SMF a few years ago in a SuperCharged Focus ZX3, and took the class, merely by showing up to every event. There were cars faster then me, but none were as consistent (in times or attendance.)

Just go out and have fun.. Remember, it's a $3 trophy at best - the memories are worth more.

Yeah M50 swaps are frustrating for classing. +30hp, now in class with 500hp evos. Don't worry about being competitive, based on my experience it's not in the cards unless you set up your car, buy slicks and can out-drive everyone. Just go have fun.
