When I max out my steering wheel to the left it grinds then wants to turn left for a while. The same thing does not happen when I steer to the right. Does this mean I need a new steering rack? I have a stock e30 steering rack. I do not know where the power steering fluid goes, I've looked but can't find it.

I'm thinking of getting Billsteins sports and H&R Sport springs to make my ride cushier what are you your thoughts? Is there a more comfortable combo without losing ride height? know a lot of guys go back and forth between Billsteins and Konis but I think Billie's are cheaper.

If I fix the following items i'll be happy with my car.
                Steering grinding
                inspection light
                new bumpers
                new rims and tires
                paint.
Currently getting a quote on Billies with H&R sport springs...

Just go coilovers. Then you can choose whatever height and comfort level you want.

Im basically looking for maximum comfort without sacrificing handling. I doubt ill ever change ride height. This is my work car. It will never see a track day.

^Coilovers with a one of the best cheap dampeners: Koni Yellows valved properly, approx $250/corner for the dampeners, therefor go Ground Control, and while you are at it, go 5 lug ;-) Then we can roll to meets and accidentally take the wrong car home.

BTW Art, this is where your power steering fluid goes, one line runs to the rack, one from the pump.

It should be near/under the drivers side strut tower.

I saw that. Thought ZF was for my transmission fluid since its a ZF tranny. If thats the case where does the transmission fluid go?

The rack uses ATF fluid, its just gears and a pump...

Trans fluid goes in the transmission ;-)

Diff fluid goes in the diff ;-)

                            ¡Es muy facil!

Hah you know I never really researched e30's. I knew I wanted one and I bought one. Of course I got one that was heavily modified so what I read didn't always count for my situation. I think that's part of the fun of learning as you go. This is what forums are all about.
