I think the hose in this diagram behind the engine is actually the 2nd one, but its put there so you can see it maybe?
edit: lol it's not an m20 that's why; but you should get the picture.

I did this quick fix for a friend after his heater core took a shit to hold him over before swapping a 24v.
DON'T use plastic tubing, it will melt.

Simple as some metal tubing and a 90* fitting? You're a lifesaver.

Yes! Don't use plastic, remember lol.
90* fitting was because I didn't remember if the hose needed to be massaged; not needed probably.

I remember when my heater valve started leaking onto my sandals when I was in traffic. Good times.

Last I heard someone got a/c to work on the m30. But if you're a man you won't need it. I ran 3 of my cars without a/c in TX summers. SoCal is child's play compared to that.

Ran my e30 m30 this summer with no AC in the valley. Pop out windows help and not moving too much to keep the sweating down. It really isn't that bad once you have acclimated to the weather.

Yeah but I'm a big dude that um perspires a good deal, let's just leave it there, but I'll look for that guy that got his A/C to work I don't see why you wouldn't be able to get it to work it would just be a bit tight in there

Every time I see that diagram in the Bentley manual it makes me want to route those two lines to my throttle body but I think my thermostat housing is not original to my car as it doesn't have an extra opening for that extra line...Unless its plugged and I am retarded...Also a like scenario.

Either way once I redo the head gasket I will get a new thermostat and take a look then...

All hardware stores were closed so I picked up a threaded hose coupler from the gardening section at Target. Seems fine! I'll seriously miss my heater though haha

                        None yet!
Let it run for fifteen minutes and it seems to be holding strong. Had to sin and use some Peak antifreeze to top her off but all is well for now. Thanks again for coming in clutch with the help.

There are other dealers that offer free shipping with orders over $100 although this is oversized, it could help lower the cost. Probably best to call around and see who can come up with the best overall price shipped.
I can get you a good price locally. Will PM.

Heater core isn't THAT bad of a job. Around $150 for a new Behr if I remember right.

It got down to 27 degrees here last night and is still around 40 now.
