My U-joint snapped at one of the pins. I'm surprised the car still runs. Looks like I'll need a whole-nutha driveshaft.

Currently doing my timing belt and having trouble taking off the clutch fan. I have the wrench and all but I guess the belt is too loose and as I turn the wrench on the clutch fan the belt moves and so does the waterpump too. Should I just have another wrench to hold one of the waterpump bolts so i can take off the fan?

Are you sure you are turning it the correct way?

Yeah man pretty sure. I'm turning it towards the drivers side because it's reverse threaded right?

i always put some tension on the belt and turn the wrench.
or use a flat head screwdriver, jam it in between 2 of the bolts of the water pump and turn the wrench, the fan should come off.

Has anyone replaced their trans output seal? What's the deal with the flange? I understand the two-stage tightening, but I'm unsure of the coating of the flange/nut to the seal.

2 stage what do you mean?
I know you can't just smash down the bolt and drive off, that's what I did and mine has been leaking. I didn't have a torque wrench.
Also my seal leaks on the outside edges of the seal, you need to add some curil t sealant on the outer edges to prevent leaks and on the threads. I haven't done it yet but I read it on the Bentley and on the forums.
I'm dreading to pull the exhaust and driveshaft on the floor.

As stated in the bentley manual, 2 stage means it's tightened to a high torque spec, then loosened, and then re-torqued to a lower spec.

I can use my shop's lift, luckily, but my exhaust is all welded together, dang muffler shop removed the flanges.

Oh didn't read that part just skimmed it.
Hmm my car has recently has been shutting of randomly, I noticed it will shut off when I gun it, but it dies like when you let off the gas even with my foot on the throttle, leaving me with the dash lights on the bottom right corner on. My in tank fuel pump was replaced new with a vdo unit, but I never replaced my outer pump. So far it has only died on me twice and turned back on right away and the second time it cranked away then started.
                          Any suggestions?
I checked the battery and it's nice and tight, I don't think it'd the battery cus my radii doesn't lose its presets.

                            Check fuel pressure.
Check electrical connections of the inline pump.
Replace fuel filter, add some fuel cleaner at your next fill-up. I was recommended this: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00ER8HDRE/...190_TE_3p_dp_1

Having the same issues myself, waiting on my intank unit to arrive and see if that will resolve it. External pump+filter is under a month old.

                                Could be clogged injectors.

Is it a cold engine problem, hot engine, or both?
