By the way, BMW of Carlsbad will not generally work on E30s without express approval by the shop manager. They put new tires and wheels on mine, but declined any other service or repairs. Given the sheer number of E30 parts becoming NLA in the last few years, I am not surprised by this policy.Last edited by ghrays; 04-25-2024, 06:00 PM.Comment

I’ve taken my E30 to Escondido German Auto, Oceanside Motorsports and KB Motorsports in San Marcos. All are competent, but I have had the best experiences at KB. Vladimir, their BMW specialist, really knows his stuff.

Thanks man, yea I ended up taking it to another shop. Sadly it wasn't just the HG. In the process of replacing the cyl head. I already purchased a new (used obviously) one, but it turns out that one has an internal crack. Can't bring myself to swap the car just yet - especially in CA. Want to keep it m42 for a bit longer.Comment

Leichtbau in Costa Mesa. Byron & Khalil are well known here on R3v and do great work!Comment

I've never taken my cars there, but I am familiar, thanks for the suggestion.
I know of these guys because I watch Mike's Stanceworks YT channel. Love their builds. Wish they were a bit closer is all. Either way, thanks for the rec.Comment

Funny seeing all these posts on people trying to sell their e30s and some of us trying to buy one back. I let mine go like 7 years ago, I'm ready for another one. Also, prices are coming down so it's time to buyYOUTUBE: AR Perez
