So the only drop of fluid under my car last night was atf from the power steering. Hopefully today i'll have time to delete the whole PS system and remove the pump, reservoir, lines, and properly plug the two holes in the rack. My dad kept telling me to just drain the fluid and call it a day. He literally spent like an hour trying to convince me to half-ass the whole thing.

What is the purpose of this? Why would you not want power steering? I know you can't drive yet but when you get to take it outta the garage your going to want power steering more times than not...

I drive every day and I know what it's like to drive without PS. And my garage is straight in, i just turn on the drive way so i can always be moving as I'm turning. And wtf was wrong with what I said Danny? :blowup:

Thanks guys. Just got home after many many hours! Grapevine and L.A traffic BLOWS.
Left my house at 10 am, picked up my friend in San Ramon at 10:30 and was on the road ever since.
*Finally*, after so much delay - looking at my e30 out of my dorm window.

Not having power steering is not that bad. I've had no power steering for the last year and a half with a small momo steering wheel and I don't even sweat it getting in and out of parking or maneuvering in tight spaces. I love the feeling when driving without it. I can feel the road.

No power steering is nice, in the e21 it's fun and factory. Wouldn't mind having the same sort of feeling in the e30
