The CV joints in the front drive wheels will continually bind over time until they eventually blow.

IIRC, front axels go for a pretty penny (somewhere around $200-$400), so if someone wants a performance oriented e30; get something that's not an iX. They're also tougher on maintanence because of the AWD components in the front drive system

CLEP'd a class yesterday, and CLEP'd another today. 9 credits, two tests, two days, two hours long combined. I'm feeling pretty darn good, at this point. Only 48 more credits and I'll have my AA! :D

What's a normal total cost for a 5-speed swap? My dad is looking at picking up a 325is with an auto in it but he wants a manual.

this statement will probably be unpopular, but if i want AWD again, i'm getting another WRX, not an iX.

(yes subie 5-speeds will die from clutch dumps just like an iX t-case, but you can find another subaru transmission.)

e30s are great cars, but they are not THE car for EVERY use.

Totally agree, I want an older modded subie for the snow some day.

I did mine for $515 without cutting corners.
Granted I did have a lot of people hook me up (Free flywheel resurfacing, getting a 2k mile clutch kit for $50, a complete short shift and bushing/seal refresh kit for $100)

Normally expect to dump $500-800 total after everything. If you want a completely refreshed a new transmission-line; expect to be hitting close to $700-800
