pretty much both- i need to get a storage space to stash the hardtop on days when i feel like running without it (and put my m42 when it's pulled). i've still yet to do that since putting it on, it would be nice to run topless once in a while.

I took mine off for the summer, kinda pointless owning a vert if you cant put the top down the weight makes a big difference though either way

Yes all other gears I can pull to redline. Only in 3rd does it top out at 5500

I shouldn't have to ask I guess, but are you sure you're not hitting the weird speed limiter? I have no idea what diff and trans you're running but if it's something funky like a 2.93 and a G240 then 5500 could be around 100.

Furthermore, the fact that it's limited at 100 is troubling. Sounds like there could be an issue with the speed signal.

310zf trans and 3.73 diff. Yeah I can have my foot all the way on the gas and it'll just stay at a constant 100 like I'm just holding it there when I'm trying to go faster.

Also sometimes if I really romp it on the street I get a power lag through either second or third I can't remember...

i think his point is off
if you are swap in a s62/rt-10 you arent looking for a light front end. you are looking for show and stupid fun. half the fun is the noise and the rt-10 is way better sounding. yes it's a stupid built engine with 1930s tech but it can be gotten in a crate cheap. heck an LSx swap is stupid cheap and amazing power and sounds damn good.
s62 stock is 335whp 5L
rt/10 stock is 420whp 8L

You should trade that m42 for a stack of money and allow me to put it in my car.
Provided the oil pump I bought today doesn't fix it.

And Eric, you said it yourself. It's a heavy engine with 30's tech that makes shit power for how big it is. Sure it may put out more than twice the power with less than twice the weight, but something like a SC m62 will put out more power with not significantly more weight (at least not 300+ lbs)

Unknown engine condition, what if it doesn't pass smog? Also that I believe is an m44 and idk if there are any differences as far as compatibility.
