Eric, for winter tires I am running Blizzak WS-50 195/65 and they do great (in the snow/ice). I wouldn't recommend them for too much dry driving cause they are pretty soft. Just my .02
And I am also a follower of that theory regarding tire width

That car needs much more than a manual transmission to be track-able.

Thing was literally falling apart when I drove it.

I never went and looked at it but I'm well aware of what it'd probably need... David's on AIM right now and we're talking about it.... If I could get a decent price for my car, I'd probably pick it up and DD it for a while and slowly replace / fix / maintanence what it needs, then once it was solid / reliable, I'd mod it

If you plan on selling your car for "cheap-ish-normal-E30-price" there is always the option of switching suspensions with me and I will give you cash, and sell your car for the same asking price that you normally would.
