Another reason for me to not let people drive my car. I would be so freaking pissed if a friend had my car towed back to me and said, I don't know what happened.
Wheelgap is like a vagina. The more fingers you get in, the worse it is.
I don't know why people feel like they need to jam the shifter through the gears. It's not like we are driving steam locomotives or non-syncro international trucks. With a light touch the syncro's will guide the shifter to the right gear if you are slightly off.
I've let a few friends drive my M Coupe. Everyone gets a firm lecture on proper shifting technique.

Agreed. It's not difficult to shift these cars without issue: I don't think a specific technique is needed. I've never actually worried about moneyshifting or a specific technique. Don't be a complete ham-fisted idiot while shifting and then there's no issue. Maybe since I learned to drive on dad's fork-in-spaghetti-noodles-loose manual e28, and then drove a notchy as hell Subaru/E30, I'm more careful and precise with shifting than others....I dunno though, just a thought.
Not many people get to drive my car though: most of my friends are either car nuts with their own cars, or people who don't know that the left pedal isn't the brake pedal.
