Pretty much. Its really quick, much faster than the stock m42 and it feels quicker and more 'kick you in the face' than a properly smooth m20. I need to get my exhaust fixed as the sound/drone gets really annoying, damn I'm an old man.
I also need to figure out how to get traction on launch, its challenging to finesse it into gripping, but once it hooks up its great.
A proper tune would probably also help, I haven't gotten all my stuff yet so its still running on the stock m50 obd1 tune.
Also, I want more power because I couldn't keep up with an e39 m5 the other day. At the top of 2nd shifting into 3rd he had me by about a car length getting on the highway. I want to spank, or at least beat, an m5 in my e30.Comment

Pretty cool video about Audi introducing quattro into DTM in 1990-1991. They have some cool footage, and it is in German . I really feel classroom German is shit and you must hear the true language, so here you go.Comment

Hmm, those are hard to come by in 'cheap' plus they only really add hp up high, with minimal torque gain in the middle. s52 cams in an m52 seem like the way to go for me. I'll keep my eyes peeled for you.

Even better idea. M52s are the best 24v motor to turbo, hands down.Comment

Fresh Tracks!
I took my usual "avoid snow traffic" way out of Boulder today. Cut through neighborhoods to 55th, cut through East Boulder Rec Center, to South Boulder Road, to Cherry Vail Rd, to Marshall Rd. Halfway down Marshall there is a long dirt road that the Koppenburg Cycling Race is held on (its technically called S 66th St). After a 2 mile straight it cuts through a nasty steep rutted section to another smooth long dirt road, called W Coal Creek Dr, that empties out into Superior.
Marshall was a shit show so I decided to bust down the Koppenburg. It was completely untracked. 4" of fresh powder over dirt without another soul in sight = pure fun. I won't incriminate myself, but I had snow rooster tails 20 feet tall in my wake! Soooooooooooooooooo much fun! The rutted section was sketch, but the snow smoothed it out!
Only have iPhone pics, but you get the idea.
With each snow storm I'm more surprised at what a perfect winter/snow car the E30 is. My rear snow tires are completely bald in the centers too. The hill up McCalsin wasn't plowed yet so got up some speed and drifted comfortably through the parade of cross-overs trudging along at a snails pace. I haven't touched my Tacoma in any of the storms we've had yet!JOY IS AN E30...
