I am just assuming I can realistly get a stroker for cheaper then a S50 in my specific case. Parts are under 2k for stroker I want. With the S50 I first have to find a used s50 in unkown shape and all that extra crap on top of it, then modify wiring/brake booster/transmount, etc. Blah

To sum up. I want a S50 more, but I don't want to pay over 3k for everything.
Unless you get dirt cheap machine and assembly work, an S50 swap will be cheaper.

Your head will probably need a valve job and new guides at your mileage, plus machining as well.

Only way I could see this being under $3k total is if you did the poor man's stroker with the eta parts and kinda DIY-ed it.

^^^ kinda my line of thinking.

my logic runs thusly: An S50 swap is just unbolting and re-bolting, plus some wire soldering, while a stroker requires an engine teardown and extensive machine work.

And I think an S50 would give you more power anyway, but don't quote me on that, someone w/ more knowledge can chime in...

I just have a feeling shop time will be more with a swap. Parts are near the same.

If someone with the experience wants to swap my car for cheaper that is an option.

This I may want to entertain.

I can definitely do a 24v swap for you. ;)

Let me chime in, as resident swap 'expert' (or something), I will help - for free - with everything surrounding doing a swap. Anyone who wants to do a swap (or any other work for that matter) is welcome to my garage, tools, and experience.

Chances are you can find a good s50 for less than 2k as they are getting older, add on the parts you need for the swap, sourced from ebay and junkyards, and you're barely at another 1k. My entire obd1 swap, which included a harness and all brand new sensors cost me less than $500 because I took my time to find and pull the wiring harness.

A stroker build would be awesome, but a swap is much, much easier for the diy'er and yields some serious fun/hp for less $$.

If you gather all the swap parts beforehand we can get it done in a weekend.

Idealy what I want is someone that can just bill me for all the crap in a swap. I know it's boring but it is much eaiser for me to make money then piece it all together myself. Which is why I might just buy a S50 swapped car and sell mine.

Just being realistic. I HATE finding parts. Take the supercharger for example :)

I'm a major grease monkey nerd, so finding and pulling the parts is half the fun!

Buy an S50 swapped donor car, have me put the S50 into your car, and your M20 into the donor car, sell donor car, profit.

Hahaha, a 24v swap is easier to find parts for though.

So if I find all the parts, would roland and ross swap it with me trying to help? There would be payment of course. Like mykal says, we are slowly buying roland a plane!

Slowly but surely. And the both of you will definitely get a ride in the plane once I get it.
