              bouncy ride?

              in other news, just installed a billiard ball as a shift knob. It is awesome, and about the cheapest shift knob you can get (~$6 total)

                  i KNOW right? I even brought my camera, but we were kickin so much butt (me and my buddy w/ a machine shop) that I didn't take pics.

                  Long story short, chopped shift lever down by 1/2", tapped threads on shift lever, drilled and tapped billiard ball, plumber's tape, threaded that baby on till it bottomed out on the expanding shift lever. The boot meets the ball nicely, and it all looks seamless. And very unique imho.

                    Reminds me of high school days.... I had a round shifter like so but with fancy color lights.

                      my shifter is just a black cue ball, so it is like the 8 ball, but without the 8. So it matches nicely, and there are no lights.

                      The point of it is to be durable and not ever come off unless I want it to. And older BMW shift knobs SUCK. So the shift lever will bend/snap/break bushings before this shift knob ever comes off without me unscrewing it.

                          Sam, I demand pictures! Sounds wicked.

                          And yea, bouncy ride ftl. I have some theories to rule out before it's the shocks' fault, so currently it could be the result of about 10 different things. Engineer hat: on.

                            For bouncy ride I am going with...

                            (Scoob =/= M3) + (Boulder roads == teh suck) = bouncy ride

                              just crank up the stiffness in the shocks.

                                I really like the billiard ball as a shift knob, but I am in love with the door knob style shifter and will be picking up a wooden one soon.
