Deleted my pinstripe today and got my 13 button OBC installed and working. Avg mpg works and so does the range...sorta. I installed it with the low fuel light on (no working gauge) and went to the Chevron and put $20 in and it said I had 31 miles...fail.'72 2002 | '88 M5 | '89 330is | '89 M3 | '02 M5

Actually, really wasn't that bad. I didn't connect the green or blue plug as I didn't need them (green is fuel cutoff and blue is for turn signal stalk.) The black one I hooked up to the door chime and the white one i connected to the ambient temp sensor (which was another white/blue wire as it is on the 13 button harness.)
Make sure you connect the OBC before mounting it in the HVAC panel. I tested mine before hand and it had a bulb out. Luckily, I had another one so I pulled it out and swapped it. I would've been pissed if i didn't because it's kind of a bitch to get in/out of there.
One thing I did which helped is I removed the top/bottom screws on the right side of the HVAC panel. Obviously, they're going to be a tight fit when replacing, so I put the screw on a small #1 philips and put some electrical tape on it so it didn't fall off, but enough to allow me to pop the screwdriver off when I got the screw all tightened.
