So I am not getting the BMW 318is because there is a moral issue I guess and a pride issue at hand. The car looked familiar to me but I couldn't pinpoint what exactly. Than it hit me as I was getting the truck and almost at U-Haul for the trailer. 1-week ago the car was posted on craigslist from a guy named Dan (fake name) & he was selling it from his farm for $500. Some of you may remember me talking about a car I could get & swap a M20 in it for basically under $1000, This Is That Car! Well I happened to be 2nd or 3rd in line so you can guess what is coming next. Tim (fake name) bought the car for $500, took the seats out of the car, and was now trying to sell the car to me for $1100 since he posted it back on craigslist. After all is said and done counting gas, trailer, & time my total costs for the car would've been close to $1500 for a car I was in line to get for $500.
Add more salt to the wound, the car doesn't even run right let alone at all. If you want parts from it, hit the guy up or even buy it since I have taken myself out of that picture. I am also perfectly fine with anybody selling their property for whatever amount they please, but I also have the right to refuse to pay that as well. I just couldn't sleep well at night knowing I literally let myself get swindled like that and it seems like a great project car.
So the search for my first E30 continues.
Edit: I know all this to be true, because I even called the PO and he confirmed the ad and the car. Time for a beer.Originally posted by James Crivellone1) The internet is NOT serious business.
